Fits in my carry-on suitcase
I previously had a Leki with a cork handle. Even though this handle is not cork, it is very comfortable. It appears to be a coated plastic, is not slippery, and usually holds on to a table when propped against it.I am using it as a cane/walking stick. When the cane is completely collapsed, it is 18-inches long and fits in my carry-on suitcase without a struggle. When opened, It is perfect for someone under 5-feet tall. Mid-size adults will also like this cane. I recommend this product for assistance in balancing on uneven terrain.

The smallest serious trecking staff
This is incredibly lightweight and small. The Super Micro staff fits vertically inside of my 21" carry-on bag. It expands to taller than I need, and I'm 5' 7". I can also fit in in my backpack with ease, with nothing sticking out. This staff made my last trip a breeze, and since it's so light I forgot it was in my pack until I needed it. Note that my version has internal locks, so you have to twist 10-12 times at each joint rather than simply flipping a tab like on models with external locks. Some people don't like this, but I consider it a bonus because the shape is more streamlined and less likely to catch on things.

Different than pic and what is described
The picture and bullet points indicate the quick release clamping locks. What came was the twisting locks. Don't have time to return it and buy something else. But I would have bought a much cheaper stick if I wanted the twist lock types.

Why so short?
Not tall enough. Very well made, but causing my husband to hunch over to use it. He really liked it, but destroying his posture. Why don’t you make the taller?

Even Without the Two Fast Locks, Still the Best
Leki apparently decided that the LEKI Super Micro Trekking Staff was more reliable WITHOUT the fast locks (red in the product picture). I liked the fast locks on the Staff I lost, but I believe the current version WITHOUT the fast locks is still the best Staff and probably less susceptible to slippage or breakage.

Trekking Staff UNUSABLE BY 6ft TALL AMERICAN MALE
I am totally disappointed with this product. I have had a previous Leki Wanderfreund walking stick and it was perfect. This new one is totally unusable by any 6 ft tall Male because it does not extend long enough. It would probably be perfect for some 5' 4" or thereabouts. but for me, it is unusable. I don't recall the product description relating that it was only for short stature people.
