Item arrived very well boxed and with very clear and concise instructions. But we found that priming for the first time, did not work if you followed the instructions. We found that putting the unit on a higher up stair and holding the hose end at a much lower level and then following the instructions it made the priming work first time . Apart from that this cleaner is truly a great piece of kit and does an amazing job and leaves behind a very clean carpet which is almost dry but needs maybe an hour or two to be totally dry. But be prepared it’s very noisy in use, and is heavy but not an issue when in use. The cable length is long enough to go the height of the stairs but for us with the placement of our mains plugs required an extension cable. As already said this is an excellent carpet cleaner and whilst you may think that your carpet is clean, as we did, you will be amazed at how much crud comes out of that carpet, especially as we have woofers and we vacuum every other day and daily during the moulting seasons, but the difference really is noticeable. A great purchase, should have purchased this VAX earlier.

Manage to remove stubborn stain on my 10 year old carpet. Can’t believe how much dirt was removed from the landing stairs.Tried it also on car seats: did a good job.IMPORTANT INFO:Had no water coming out of spray despite pressing the trigger for more than a minute. Eventually found the info on YouTube (not on the instruction set):- place the machine on a higher surface that the nozzle/trigger end. For instance put it on a table and hold the nozzle/trigger towards the floor. I kneeled and hold the trigge toward the floorr. Then press and hold the trigger (machine must be on of course): within a minute or two, the air bubble preventing the spray to come out is cleared and all works fine!

Absolutely superb piece of kit. Most home/kitchen gadgets take such a time to set up and then dismantle and clean components you wonder if it’s worth all the effort. Not with the SpotClean, set up - use - empty and store ‘til next time! Brilliant results with minimal effort. Even first time use instructions are easily read/understood, not the stoopid pictures only that you have to struggle to decipher, just words and obvious diagrams. Oh yeah it cleans rugs and upholstery brilliantly as well. A tad worrying the amount of crud that’s drawn out of your stuff but hey, you’ve got a SpotClean so clean everything to within an inch of its life. It’s a satisfying and worthwhile taskAll in all an invaluable addition to your home maintenance and so neat and tidy to store.Brilliant design and manufacture- well done VAX!

It really cleans upholstery and carpets very well. The quality is great for a moderate price. The solutions works wonders either with stains and dirt.

As a parent of a toddler, I've learned that accidents are inevitable. Unfortunately, those accidents often involve messes that are difficult to clean, especially on carpets and furniture. That's why I decided to purchase the Vax SpotWash Spot Cleaner, and I'm so glad I did!Just a few days ago, my 2-year-old got sick and threw up on our new grey carpet. Purchased to clean some upholstery and as a preventative measure to help protect new carpets. It worked well on both with easy trigger spray action, scrubbing brushes and decent suction to remove excess water, and has successfully lifted old dirt out of arm rests on our sofa nicely and treated marks on the carpet.The cord is long enough to manoeuvre easily without feeling tethered and the hose is also an adequate size allowing good reach. Not really any noisier than a standard vacuum cleaner and very quick to set up and use. Separate chambers make filling and cleaning nice and easy and there’s an additional port to clean the hose.Overall, I am really pleased with this purchase and it is invaluable if you have pets and/or young children. I am only dropping 1 star as there appears to be a continuous output of water coming from the handle (although minor) - I’ve opened the handle and all seals are in tact so I’m stumped as to why this is happening. Doesn’t affect the use, just an irritation having a soggy hand whilst using.
