Is ths really made from transparent, microwave safe, stainless steel?

No it’s a hard clear plastic. I wouldn’t trust it in microwave either.

Is the lid tightly fitting with hot drinks

Hi , yes the lid is fine with hot drinks. I bought 4 of these cups for my mum, which she finds easy to use.

Descriptions on other cups say you cannot dishwash the lids, can you dishwash the lids on this one?

I must admit I had not noticed this information and maybe there is a special reason as to why you shouldn’t do so however, this cup was for my mother and I have previously washed this in the dishwasher without any issues.

Is there a hole in the second lid for inserting a straw?

yes therefore can not be used as travel cup
