Perfect for cold New England winters!
I live in New England, and my condo is on the ground floor right over my building’s subterranean garage. New England winters can get bitterly cold, and no amount of insulation--both built in to the floors and supplemented with area rugs--can stop my floors from becoming absolutely frigid. In the winter, there can be more than a 10 degree temperature difference between my ceilings and my floors.I tried to solve my cold floor problem by setting up fans to circulate the warm air down to the ground, but this did nothing to raise the floor temperature. In fact, the warm air ended up being cooled by the floors rather than the floors being warmed by the air. And not only was it noisy with the fans going, it also ended up increasing my heating bill. Turns out circulating the air turned the floor into a heat sink.I tried space heaters, but that was like running a 1500W hair dryer in the middle of the floor. Most of the heat went straight up, and the point-source couldn’t distribute the heat around the room very well.Heaters installed directly into the floors would be nice, but that would be thousands upon thousands of dollars to tear up the floors and install them.I stumbled onto these Hot Carpet rug warmers almost by accident, but I decided to give one a try. I sandwiched one between my rug and a rug pad on the bottom, and it worked perfectly and solved my cold floor problem immediately! With the source of heat at the lowest point in the room, it’s a barrier against the cold floor with everything above it maintained at a comfortable temperature. And because the heat is spread out over a wide area, the heat is distributed more evenly throughout the room.It worked so well, I bought two more 500W models! And even though running three rug warmers uses 1500W of electricity, my total energy bill ends up being lower. The cost of using that electricity to provide heat directly at the floor level saves the central heat from having to work as hard and ends up being both more efficient and more effective.I connect my rug warmers to smart plugs, which allows me to turn them on with a voice command for Siri/Alexa/Google and also allows for programming an automatic on/off schedule. This also allows me to position the control units under the couch or in locations that are hard to reach but also out of sight. On a final note, the company’s customer service is fantastic. The few occasions I’ve had to contact them, they’ve responded immediately and resolved my issues quickly and completely. They stand behind their product 100%. (You can find their contact info on their website.)If you’ve got a situation like mine, I highly recommend these rug warmers!

Good way to keep your feet warm
I live in an older home with no insulation under the floor. I had a carpet pad and carpet but my feet would still be cold. Adding the Hot Carpet was a nice addition to keeping warm on cold winter nights. It warms quickly. My updated wishes include the ability to heat the entire carpet and not just the left or right zine. I also hope the item can be redesigned to be more aligned with standard carpet sizes like 4x6 or 5x7.

Did not last six months
We purchased this for our sun porch, which is where we feed around cats 2x per day. The porch has tile floors, so here North of Boston the tiles can get chilly when it's cooler outside and we all know how cats love their comforts. The first one e purchased lasted about three years. We run it from late October until November. It's on a time to coincide with the feeding schedule. I was disappointed that after three years with only minimal use it failed, but I purchased a second one, which arrived 11/4/2023. I just tried to get it started and it doesn't work. I'm very sorry I did not but the insurance plan. I will not be replacing this. I will be looking for another brand.

Great little warmer
I have only had it a few months so I can't speak to how long it will lastSo far I have been pleased. It warms up pretty fast and keeps the toes nice and warm. I keep the house pretty cold on the days we have to go to work so I like to turn this on first thing in am to warm up.The control panel is a little hard to cover....there is a lump on the carpet so if someone is worried about it looking perfect, keep that in mind.

Turns off after 6 hrs
Works super great when it’s on. Unfortunately, it automatically turns off after just 6 hours. I’m not going to keep turning them back on every 6 hours. We put one in my son’s room because it gets really cold in there at night. It worked! Until it automatically turned off at 1am and he woke us up to tell us his room was cold again. These are great, really; but pointless if they don’t stay on for a reasonable amount of time, if not until turned off. I wouldn’t mind if the heat slowly pulsed on & off to give the circuit or whatever a break/let the floor cool down a bit (that’s what our reptile and dog/cat heat pads do). We bought two and are returning both.

Cold office
My office over the garage is always cold and this product has helped. I put a rug pad down first then the heated mat and a light area rug on top. Has an automatic shut off which is great also.

So cozy, a new winter favorite
I like to sit on the floor sometimes. To browse the internet, or play a video game, with a bunch of pillows and blankets, maybe a bowl of popcorn. We got this to make a sort of cozy, kotatsu-style space for sitting on the floor. We put the woo-warmer under a wool rug that we had and turn it on for cold winter movie nights. So, so cozy. I'm in love with this thing. The settings give you good options for how much heat and where it should be. If you're worried it won't get warm enough, I've found that if I crank it all the way up it can actually get uncomfortably warm, even through a thick carpet. Not enough to burn or melt anything, just more than you want to be laying on. The slider for selecting your heat level is therefore very helpful. On the coldest nights, 60-70% power has been perfect. This has been so great next to our fireplace. Even though we don't have a fire going for safety reasons, you still get the warm cozy feeling of a fireplace when you sit on the warm carpet. Great also with a low table for sitting to get some work done or play cards with the kiddo. I hope it lasts a good long time.

Makes a pretty good kotatsu
Imagine a large heating pad, and the only settings are low. Put that under your rug. OK, I feel lots of heat beneath the rug, but not much above. In no way does this ever attempt to warm up a room. So, I used it as a kotatsu.
