Makes life easy
This is not a suction device...~!! It is for fluid transfer from the container to the car.I do a lot of vehicle maintenance at home and this pump works great. So far I have only been using it with gear oil to fill differentials and transfer cases, the oil flows a bit slow but with the extra ball valve in the hose you can control the flow very well and not make a big mess out of everything. When I am done filling I hang the end of the hose up high and pull the valve core out of the valve stem and let the extra oil flow back into container. Very convenient and the best price for this type of fluid pump. Works best pumped up all the way to 30 Lbs pressure.Looks like you can switch to other fluids without too much trouble and the opening on top is quite large. I use my air compressor to pump it up so I can't comment on the manual pump.

Where have you been all my car guy life!?
This thing is amazing for ATF. I will never buy one of those stupid pump things again. I had to fill a TR6060 in my challenger with it. Worked great, put 5 quarts in, pressurized it and away it went. Simple, easy and awesome. I’ve had a motiv power bleeder for about 10 years, while cool, the filler is a much more must have product. This one comes without a ball valve but the “suggested products” had one for $7 and I bought it, which even with that cost made this $15 cheaper than the same product with the ball valve included. Cleaning it out is kinda cumbersome but it’s so frickin useful, I don’t care.

Makes Differential and Manual Transmission Services Easier to Finish!
A welcome and easy solution that makes refilling differentials and transmissions much easier. All of the previously stated shortcomings of the hose and tube are easily remedied. I also bought 1 more of these for just doing automatic transmissions that require you to fill through a hole in the case rather than through a dipstick. This tool also makes that job much faster and easier. Is it the best one out there? Maybe not - but it does a hell of a job of making the jobs I stated much easier to finish.

Not as described
Nothing like what it’s advertised in the description with lanyard and shut off valve. It doesn't come with the yellow shut off valve shown in the picture only with the red hook.Update: I’m changing my review from 1 to 4 stars because they changed the pictures to the correct product. On that note, this tool has grown on me even though it doesn’t come with the shut off valve it still makes the job of filling your transmission very fast and easy. I could easily add my own shut off valve if I wanted to but I haven’t found the need to do that yet. Just have a drain pan under the fill hole and I always have a second person ready to unscrew the cap to vent the pressure once I’m done filling. It does have the white plastic clip that you see in the pictures it’s on the hose and it locks when you pinch it together and it’s supposed to stop flow but it feels like it’s going to damage the hose if you pinch it too hard but if you don’t pinch it hard enough fluid still gets through. The best way is just to have a second person unscrew the cap. I noticed the description still says you get a lanyard but mine didn’t come with it, what you see in their pictures now and mine is what you get.

A must have tool
I use this one for filling gear oil in Jeep differentials. I added a brass shot-off valve for improved usage. You can dump a gallon of 75/140W gear oil in it and embark on a maintenance rampage. Anyone who has ever been slathered in stinky gear oil will appreciate the mess free application. I have one for brakes as well and will get another for tranny lube. A real labor saver.

Purchase the pump with a brass shut-off valve
My first purchase of the Motive Products 1735 Fluid Transfer Pump was delivered with a defective pressure gauge. My 2nd one was OK, but I tried to save money by getting the one with the plastic clip to hold the pressure. The plastic clip leaked pressure, so the fluid would also leak. I purchased a brass ball valve at my local plumbing store and now the fluid transfer pump works well. I did not rate the "Suction power" below because it does not suck. It uses positive pressure.

used on trans and diff fluid transfers
i change my trans and diff fluid multiple times a year as i track my viper. the hand pump was a pain, and there aren't electric ones that can pump the thicker diff fluid. this one worked great. i love that it has the air compressor fitting to pump it up.

Much lower quality than I expected for the price
About a half handful of large white plastic shavings in the bottom. Imagine those clogging your transmission or brake system if you didn't notice them before putting fluid in this thing. One of the weird steel hose crimp-clamps securing the plastic hose was completely loose, but I managed to use a tile cutter to tighten it. About half the other parts in this thing were loose generally, although easier and more normal to tighten. Anyway, do NOT assume this thing is sold in a usable state fresh out of the box.
