This is what a pocket folder should be, and is worth every cent
This one hell of a edc pocket folder, and worth every penny. I have been carrying a folding pocket knife every day for about 25 years now. I traditionally opt to spend more money on fixed blades ($100-$200)and usually stick with around the 50 dollar range for pocket folders, since i usually just beat on them pretty bad and occassionally lose/misplace them....Before this purchase tho, I had been carrying the same folder for 5 years or so, and thought, "ah what the hell, I'm going to spring for something better".....no regrets here whatsoever. One handed operation is very smooth and easy, and the notorious "axis lock" pretty much makes this thing bombproof, and seems damn close to being a fixed blade. I am a machinist by trade, and have a very keen eye for any type of imperfections and quality/construction of things like this. I have to say, benchmade nailed it with this blade and I will most certainly be buying more of their knives in the future. Not a single flaw to be found on this knife. Shaving sharp out of the box, easy to get that shaving sharp back when touching up with some ceramic, it's a work art.I really like the grip on this knife, the rubbery texture combined with the harder plastic scales....I don't think it would be possible to lose grip when doing anything wet. I do love the color scheme too, down to the little orange spacers that show when clipped in pocket. My first benchmade has lived up to all of my expectations (and all of the online hype ive read over the years) and is of incredible quality. I will not be going back to 50 dollar folders ever again, this is what a pocket folder knife should be.

My first benchmade
7.18.18 5 Month UpdateJust wanted to update on the knife. I had to knock one star for a couple minor reasons. Remember too, that my negatives may be someone elses positives so take it for what it's worth. It's still an incredible carry. It's a bit too grippy though, and sticks to pockets. This makes placing and retrieving the knife a little difficult sometimes. But if you are sweaty or really dry hands it does help, so this may be a wash for most.I'm also realizing sharpening the recurve is a tad more difficult that my other blades. I like using it for very specific tasks, but most of the time it's not needed. It still opens smooth as butter, and closes just the same. I swear you'd think it was an assisted blade. If you're thinking about this one just go for it. It's great steel, a great blade, sharp, comfortable, and reliable. Heck, I even chipped freakin ice apart with it, and it didn't even lose it's edge. Its an excellent knife. The feel in the hands is great. Grippy rubber like material, with just enough glide to slip easily in and out of a pocket. It's not too big, not too small. The blade comes very sharp. The action is smooth, and feels great. Closing is a little tight but not bad. I intend on purchasing many more after this experience.Cool factor, mine was one of the first 500 made and had it stamped on the blade. Probably doesn't matter at all, but i thought it was cool and unexpected.

Disappointed with my purchase.
I loved the look, design and feel of this blade. The steel is great and holds a good edge, and I loved the anti slip grip. I loved the grizzly creek but being a diesel field mechanic I did not want to ruin the wood handle of the hunting version of this knife, I also liked that it was orange so I could easily find it if dropped in the field. I loved it Until the grey rubber portion of the handle loosened up and peeled off like a band aid within two weeks of owning the grizzly ridge. I would have also liked another blade shape option because the recurve blade is a bit of a struggle to sharpen, out of fear of ruining the blade i have not mustered up the courage to even atempt sharpening a knife of this price.

Just about perfect EDC
I would consider this just about as perfect of a EDC knife as my previous EDC ( Rat 1). To be honest my only gripe with this knife is its grip-y scales. Its a grivory base, overmolded with a rubbery texture, in hand its awesome. But trying it get back in my pocket it gets stuck to my pocket. Thats a minor issue along with the recurve on the blade which makes the knife a little harder to resharpen. The came fairly sharp with a rather coarse grind, i resharpened mines immediatly and its a whole lot better now.Pros:Great steel ( resharpened: this knife is a razor and holds a great edge)Smooth actionFits in pocket really wellNice in hand feelGreat fit and finishHas a good weight to itCons:Sticky when trying to get it back into pocketRecurve is difficult to sharpenNot a deep carry ( personal preference)Knife is priced at the higher end of an entry level benchmade
