This is a terrific tasting gravy mix. Easy to make and works with multiple dishes. Ingredients: food starch (modified), palm oil, enriched bleached flour, wheat flour, niacin, iron, thiaminmonoitrate, riboflavin, folic acid, maltodextrin, salt, corn syrup solids, whey, sugar. Contains less than 2% buttermilk, non-fat milk, black pepper, mono & diglicerides, sodium caseinate, lactalbumin, dicalcium phosphate, color added. Contains allergens: wheat, milk, egg and soy.

Q: Can you use milk in place of water

I suppose you could . There is directions on the box for making potato soup also. It is perfect just using water. I would think milk would scorch .

Q: What are the mixing instructions for small batches?

On each individual bag it has the recipes for 1 Gallon, 1 Quart, and 2 cups.

Q: What is the shelf life

I don't remember what the packaging says, but in a bug-free pantry, the shelf-life is almost infinite. What is the shelf life of flour -- same thing.
