Value for the price
This starter was the perfect fit . I looked locally for the starter and could not find one that was even close to the price of this one . DONT HESITATE to buy it . It is an exact match to the original. I can't say how long it will last but for now it works as it should.

Cub cadet warranty was not honored!
Very satisfied! It took a while to get the old one out,! My old one was under warranty but instead of replacing it the company rep. Wanted me trouble shooting it costing me money. My neighbor got his through warranty without question. Same exact mower, same year. So I ordered a brand new one. Got it and new battery today riding mower started up first try. I'm a happy camper even though I took care of it myself.

Exact replacement!
Easily replaced the starter on my Cub Cadet XT1 with the Kholer engine. Works like a champ now. Very good value.

Simple install, and works like original
It was a simple install (CubCadet XT2) and works just like the original. However, two things to note, see images. The starter is a bit longer than the original, but still fits. And the shaft is a bit thinner than the original. I had to replace the original one since somehow the shaft got bent so the thinner one on this starter has been a little worried, thus the 4 stars. Only time will tell.

You get what you pay for!
Do not buy! Bought in May of 2024. First one sent had a slightly bent shaft which I discovered after installing and hearing a grinding noise. Second one sent looked fine and sounded fine after installation. Yesturday, 4/4/2025, it began a slight grinding noise when starting but started the mower. Today tried to start mower but starter motor just spun. Removed and found shaft had broken at the base of the gear. Lesson learned. If you’re buying an imported product don’t go for the least cost. Pay a little more.
