What you need are the INSIDE of the LIDS and the OUTSIDE of the JUGS. The lids are 38mm INSIDE just as stated in the ad. It looks like some sort of Styrofoam. It doesn't cover the whole cap only around where the edge of the bottle sits on the cap.
