🚀 All aboard the fun train!
The Fisher-Price GeoTrax Workin' Roundhouse is an interactive train set designed for children aged 2 to 5 years. It features a remote-controlled train, a GeoMotion function that animates the windmill and factory, and a comprehensive 30-piece set that includes track pieces, a diesel-style engine, and cargo elements, promoting imaginative play and fine motor skills.

One of the Best Geotrax Pieces
I'm not sure if some of the negative reviews of the Roundhouse here were actually kid-tested because this piece is my son's favorite Geotrax piece, hands down. Sometimes he'll just play with this piece by itself. It's 100% compatible with all existing Geotrax pieces. Here's the pros and cons:Pros--Great "Geo-motion" automated turntable with coordinated crossing signals which can direct an engine into a garage or let it continue straight through.--Equivalent length of 4 or 5 straight tracks, so this is a big piece suitable for straightaways.--Great features for kids who want to pretend to park trains (a la Thomas)--Typical durable Geotrax quality and detail--For the cost, I think this is one of the best piecesCons--I honestly don't have any

Very nice
Geo Trax is a beautiful toy for any toddler. I must admit you'll need a very big room for your child to enjoy the different "areas" of the railroad system and are not easy to assemble by small children alone. Once they are assembled, the system is truly beautiful and kids will really enjoy them for hours!

Another fun addon
This is great, and gives my son a chance to add a little more realism as he disconnects the engine from the cars and gases it up, or washes it. it looks good with the rest of our collection. Well built, which it has to be to withstand the age group that uses it most (and us parents of course...)

Worst Designed Toy of the Year
We're fans of the GeoTrax series, expecially the GeoMotion pieces. However, the Roundhouse was designed very poorly, if at all. There are several design flawas which cause major frustration to the kids, I'll just explain the 2 main ones:1) The roundhouse has 3 tracks leading up to it; two for it to pass straight through and one road which is perpendicular. If the train exits through the perpendicular road, since the roundhouse track is facing that direction, it cannot came back around and enter through the straight road; the same is true if it exits via the straight side. Furthering this problem is there is no manual crank to rotate the roundhouse track to the correct port, so even if you wanted to manually turn the track to accept the train, you can't. The train gets jammed up and the kids get frustrated.2) Many of the kits, including the main set include additional cars aside from the lead engine. They are to be attached behind the lead. You cannot use a train with any length if you want it to fit in the roundhouse - all cars must be removed otherwise the track gets jammed up when the roundhouse tries to rotate and the other cars are attached from behind on non-rotating track. The conecpt may have been good, but the implementation was horrible and makes this the worst toy my kids got last year. Furthering the problem, is that I can't take it back since it doesn't dissasemble.

Invest in a different GeoTrax set
In general, I LOVE the GeoTrax trains, and rate them 5 stars, overall. But this Roundhouse is a major disappointment. Some details are listed in another review - but that reviewer didn't think the problems were such a big deal... I do. Major problems are:- They didn't make the modules interchangeable with other tracks. This means it is not nearly as versatile as other GeoTrax. You have no option to connect other tracks to the 'spokes' of the roundhouse.- You need to manually turn the trains around once they go in for their wash or gas.- Only one train car fits on the thing that goes around, so it doesn't work when cars are attached to the engine. This is the biggest and most frustrating problem. You need to unhoook your train engine from its cars and fool around with everything.- It is just TOO BIG and that makes it hard to store. We will be getting rid of ours...

looks very cute but not very functional
I just got the whole set of geotrax and really think they look great and way cheaper than Thomas however the round housecan only hold one train at a time so it derails the train if you have more than one locomotive. they really need to add the reverse as well so they kids and me ( mom ) LOL can really make use of all the options. However, overall I really love this toy but yes I had to convert my office room into the Geotrax room. be ready to do this if not stick to the basic set up. Its very hard though since it all is so cool

Geotrax made it again !!
I'm buying Geotrax vehicles since two years ago, and we are very happy (my child and I) about the quality and fun in every pack that we've bought.I was yesterday unpacking Workin' Roundhouse, and oh my Good !! it's too big !!, where I'll put it?. The toy is great, the locomotive arrives, and turn to one of the 3 bays: a washing machine, a bay where you can "fix" your trains, and a one more bay where the trains can "sleep". The turntable is easy to use and you should have trains and a lot of tacks to ensamble in your Geo Trax System. If you are buying all Geo Trax items, you should consider to have one room or a big area for it.

geomotion is amazing
Hats off to the Fisher Price designers! The roundhouse has several neat features:1. it automatically disconnects all cars off the train engines (since there is room for only one engine on the turn table)2. the gates go up and down automatically when the turn table is not aligned to the main track3. The turn table pauses at each of the possible branches for about 5-10 seconds, which makes it easy for little engineers to line the engine up with the next trackIf you are not familiar with the geomotion system: a lever on each building selects either let the trains drive through, or stop the trains and use the train motor (based on the gear tooth on the bottom of the train) to drive some mechanical feature of the building. You gotta see it for yourself; it is a very clever system. My 3 yo loves it.
