Moeller Disposable in-Line Fuel Filter

Bought two of these - not installed yet but appears to be just fine (10micron). HOWEVER - the image associated with this ad is incorrect. The picture is of a 3/8" barbed unit. The actual 5/16" is a slightly more bullet shape with double ended barbs (apparently 1/4 & 5/16). It may be a tad longer overall - but no specs. Just so you know what you're getting, go to http://www.moellermarine.com/aftermarket/fuel_systems/fuel_filters at the manufacturer and scroll down the page. The 3/8 unit (pictured here) is part no 033317-10 and the 5/16 unit is part no 033316-10. Just FYI

I needed a filter,that would gravity flow gas in my '29 Ford with a 260 V8 and simple 2 bbl carb. I have a 12 volt inline electric shut off valve downstream of the filter. I was having fuel starvation issues with a metal filter that normally would be used in a system with an electric fuel pump. This filter had the right 5/16" inlets and went on easily. It easily flows gas to the carb, and will buy again when needed.

This is an external compartment filter only. In order to be safely used in engine bay, nipple must be long enough to double clamp. These are much shorter than I expected. In fact, I chose to not use them, but otherwise might be OK for small outboard motor, duck boats, etc.

I am very pleased with my purchase.
