Moves large volumes fast worth the noise to match
It's pretty loud but boy does this thing move water. I had a few incidences where I was helping with clogged drains since I'm that friend who owns a hundred foot drain auger. This thing allowed me to remove the water so I could use my auger to clear my friend's plumbing. I bought a stainless steel 25 ft hose to go with this so it wouldn't kink and it works perfect with this pump. The short little hose I use as the intake to suck up the water and the end of the stainless steel hose I put out into his yard. You just pour a little bit of water into the green intake hose to prime it and when you plug it in it starts slurping.Be advised you will need a second garden hose with this which is again why I purchased the stainless steel kink free. If this pump is plugged in and you get a kink in your output hose or runs out of water in the intake, you will burn this pump up. If you're using a long intake hose (50'-ish) you'll start getting a suction problem. If you're using a long output hose (200') or trying to pump too far uphill then you'll get an output problem. This little pump runs like a champ and if you know it's capabilities and it's drawbacks it will probably last your lifetime if properly maintained. For me, all I need is that 25 ft stainless steel output for what I do. If you require more footage length then you might require a larger pump. Just like power inverters and generators you don't want to run it at max all the time. You get the right size for the job. This is small but can move large volumes of water quickly. It is NOT submersible! It comes with the pump, short intake hose and floor screen hose attachment only. You will need an output hose. Does not handle debris well. Should be moving mostly sediment free water.

Excellent for pumping a moderate amount of water out of (such as) a basement
Excellent for pumping a moderate amount of water out of a basement (or similar volume). Great for emptying a solidly-plugged bathtub in 10-20 minutes. Too small to empty a swimming pool. The moderate noise level is very reasonable in the emergency you are dealing with. Keep the 110-volt electric cable tied well above the water.Best was: ordered and sent on the same day, delivered the next day and put into service within an hour.

Burned up after 9 months of 1 minute use daily.
Used this pump to drain my stand alone ice maker once a day along with an automatic timer for 60 seconds. After about 6 months it stopped coming on and would make a buzzing sound without pumping, I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to pump. Another 3 months later it just burned up and quit working. Cons, super loud and unreliable. Pros, none.

The great sucker worked like a champ and died within 2 years
I bought this to help me cleaning the Aqua2Use during the routine clean up. The aqua2use sits in the crawl space, and there is a clean up valve of course, but the problem is, it floods the crawl space with the stinky water. Also it takes a hell lot of time for the water to pass through the clean up valve. Now with this pump, Aqua2Use clean up is a breeze, it sucks all the water out of it in no time. The triangular filter is very much helpful to not let the debris go into the pump and damage the internal mechanism. But you may use the pump without it if you want so.Only lacking is a switch on the pump, but there is no pump with a switch on it, due to a reason. You dont want to touch the switch on the pump if gets wet, and because it is dealing with water, there is more chance of getting it wet. Some people complained of noise, but no similar pump is silent. You have to live with it.The same pump is available at $68.95 with a different brand. Compared to those, this looks like a deal.Update: 2019 FebI must have used it like 10 times from Aug 2017 till date. It does not need priming. I used to suck dirty water from a water recycling filter. It died recently, only only I can hear the humming sound, no rotation, fortunately I had the protection plan from Asurion, they refunded the money. When it was working, I had a lot of fun working with it; but unfortunately it died, it wasn't misused or over used. Taking out 2 star from the rating due to this premature death.

Great Little Pump
This pump works as advertised. We have a pool cover that sits in a well at the end of the pool. That well fills with water when it rains, and the water can mess up the electric cover's motor. There's a drain, but the previous owner had it hooked up to a decaying water fountain. When we took out the fountain, we discovered that the cover's well wasn't draining. So we bought this pump.Connect two hoses--one is included--put one end into the water and the other where you want the water to drain. Turn it on and boom! No more water in the well. The pump runs off of AC, so you might need an extension cord depending on where you intend to use it. Very highly recommended.

Good electric pump for small jobs
I bought this pump to use for such tasks as draining a multi-level fountain (about 35 gallons of water) or a water heater (50 gallons). It is easy to connect and works well but it is a bit noisy. Since it is in use for such short times that is not really a problem. You would not want to drain a swimming pool with this pump. I have had it for only a month or so and cannot attest to its longevity.
