Necessary part to replace on a regular basis for good printer functioning

DId not even know I needed to replace this item on a regular basis for the good functioning of my Epson printer. Became aware of it when the printer stopped functioning properly and gave me a message to that effect. The printer immediately went back to normal operation after replacement with new part (very easy to install)

This is how this part came, so I was a little thrown off, it didn’t fit in my epson 15000 the way it was supposed to. Kept giving me an error that it couldn’t find the maintenance box and then consistently didn’t drain the ink so my printer and my printer were an absolute mess.
