Give this a try if you've got "IBS"
I began having idiopathic chronic diarrhea about 10 years ago. What most docs will give the worthless "diagnosis" of "irritable bowel syndrome." There is not much I haven't tried to mitigate this miserable condition, including just about every dietary option you can think of. NOTHING has given me any real relief other than psyllium fiber, and Bob's may be the best, if not the cheapest, variety available. I simply sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon into my foods 4 times a day (total 2 tsps/day), and doing so has reduced my daily bowel movements from 2 or 3 most days, to 1 and VERY RARELY 2 on any given day. No, you don't need to mix it with water to make that unappetizing goop, just sprinkle it using a fine screen sifter onto/into your rice, pasta sauce, yogurt, soup, cereal, oatmeal, etc., stir it in & eat. You won't even know it's there until the next day's BM, which in my experience is MUCH more "normal" in terms of consistency. It has not completely removed all my symptoms, but it has DEFINITELY improved things much more than anything else I have tried, which is just about everything. I started with 1 tsp 4 x day, and was able to reduce that to 1/2 tsp x 4. Give it a try. You have nothing to lose but about 10 - 12 urgent trips to the bathroom every week.

My new fiber powder
The best fiber powder I've tried. It thickens up a lot, like a lot, if you let it sit. So don't. I mix it with just a small amount of oj and drink it within seconds. Then drink 16 oz of water after, because you must drink water or fiver won't work. That works well for me. This has the same fiber in one tsp as other brands have in a tbsp. So it is a small bag but it's equal to three times as much compared to others

Wish I could test similar products with sampling vs buying each whole product amount.. such waste
I don’t know why but every once in a while I buy two identical products from a different manufacturer. I wish I could do that by buying samples. So now I have fiber to feed the world...or the neighbors anyway

It turns out that it is more finely ground than Konsyl which I think is better for the purpose needed
My cat needs psyllium with every feeding. It cannot contain any type of sweetener or any other additive. I had been using Konsyl, but that was no longer available. I ordered this as an alternative as it met the requirements for being only psyllium. It turns out that it is more finely ground than Konsyl which I think is better for the purpose needed. I will continue to purchase this product as I now prefer it to Konsyl

powder is not comparable to psyllium husk
powder not as effective as husk

I found this product to be superior: more finely ground
I found this product to be superior: more finely ground, easier to swallow and more effective and a much better value than Konsyl Original, I am indebted to the makers of Konsul for increasing their product price by nearly 50% between consecutive buys; I never would have considered giving the Red Mill psyllium fiber a try but for the steep increase in price. I will continue to use the Bob's Red Mill product henceforth.

NOT my favorite Bob's product; not useful to me at all, really
Very "earthy" in smell and appearance. Does not come CLOSE to the product recommended by my doctor. Chopped too coarsely to easily swallowed in liquid and causes a lot more gas and discomfort than more "pharmaceutical" brands... which MAY be a different species but CERTAINLY are much more finely ground. Probably good for cooking, and good if you are into a serious ag experience.

The best
I've used a lot of fiber supplements and this one is the best I've tried. Dissolves easily in water, tastes fine with a little maple syrup of fruit blended in and it works. Unfortunately it has become scarce and sellers are now gouging the public with prices more than double the traditional market price.
