Will this attach to a camera tripod?

Yes the laser has the standard 1/4-20 tripod mount. It also has the magnet mount and we have used that to stick the laser on makeshift tripods that don’t have the 1/4-20 plate mount.

can i point this down or up to hit where the floor and wall meet?

No it’s a plum or level line only

can you turn off the front facing projection?
