I think they would be suitable for children, but you would have to be supervising them as they put them in and maybe even do it for them. It is quite easy to jam them in there and hurt yourself. I personally did not like the product. I felt it was too difficult to insert all the way and found myself trying to jam the plugs in there. If your kids need them for protective use I would recommend a pair of protective ear muffs. If it is for sleeping they will need plugs as the muffs are quite uncomfortable to sleep with.

I bought my Hearos at WalMart which had flesh colored ear plugs.
