It works
I purchased this cream to help me break in a new pair leather slides. The bottle advises that the best use is to apply to your feet first and then wear a pair of socks. My leather slides are made to be worn in the Summer and without socks. The cream is easy to apply.I went for a walk and my feet were slippery in my pair of slides.I found it helped prevent blisters.

Best blister prevention product ever!!
This product is a serious game changer. I have seriously bothersome feet - if I walk more than a couple miles in a day, I get huge, painful blisters under the balls of my feet. I went to Europe for three weeks this summer and was terrified that my feet would ruin my trip. I used this stuff every day and survived the trip blister free. I was truly shocked it worked as well as it did! Yes, it’s kind of gross and yes, it feels like you’re stepping in something squishy at first but this stuff seriously works! I got the large tube and it lasted for three weeks using daily (and sometimes twice a day) applications with product to spare. Whatever you do though, don’t apply this before putting on sandals. I tried to use the tiniest bit with some Chacos and walking downhill was so difficult because I slipped and slid everywhere. If you have problems with blisters - get this stuff!!! Puts all of the other anti-chafe products to shame and is 100% worth it!!

Best blister prevention solution EVER!
I absolutely LOVE this product! Before I tried Hike Goo 6 years ago, I used other anti-blister solutions and would get blisters every time I backpacked for more than 2 days in a row. The first time I used Hike Goo, though, I didn't put enough on and got a blister. My friend who recommended this product said, "That's because you have to GOOP IT ON so it's a thick, white layer over your hot spots and the areas prone to blisters. Don't rub it into your skin. Trust me. If you do this, you won't get blisters." After following his instructions, I have NEVER gotten blisters having backpacked roughly 440 miles over the last 5 years. And as a bonus, my feet end up being soft and smooth - sometimes the skin on my feet even ends up feeling and looking better than before I start my trip!

Great, but just short of perfect.
The product works great but I put it to the challenge and here it is. I would apply for shorter hiking distances. 4-6 miles worked fine. I also used this for a 27 mile walk on pavement and found out that I would need to reapply (also changed socks) about every 8 miles. Ended up with one blister on each foot right under the toes. My friend made the mistake of also using shoe powder and it obviously dried out quick. Reapplied without powder at 3 miles and it was fine from there. Prepare for long distances if u are going that far. But it worked very good, just short of great. Will use again because nothing has worked as well as this!
