Great collection of specials
This is a collection of special edition stories published in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics by Archie Comics. The comic itself is presented in great quality paper and minor cosmetic improvements in dialogue and art (at least, that's the vibe I got.) Editor notes here and there help to clarify things. Overall, satisfied with this purchase!

Son Loves Sonic!
My son loves all the Sonic comic books. He reads them over and over again. I like that they get him to read, and they are so much more reasonably priced on Amazon than other stores. Thank you!

The SUPER Specials begin
in the mid 90s, the Archie Sonic series started to make specials.Which is typical for a comic at the time.Bu in 1997, they decided to rename them to Super Specials, and make them a numbered series.anyway, this contains the early super Specials.Lets go through them.Super Special #1: Battle Royal - Sonic and the Freedom Fighters get the Sword of Acorns from Knuckles, but then they start fighting Team Chaotix because both sides are tricked. This issue is pointless. In this issue it is revealed that the sword they got from Knuckles s fake. Something that we find out in issue 53 anyway. sure it explains why Knuckles was on Angel island in Endgame, but it's not a stretch to think that Knuckles was taking a break before going to Knothole and Sonic was willing to stay there until he came back. Also, the art by Sam Maxwell is an ugly mess in this story, then again this was this first story. The second story is ok though, and it's refreshing to see Antione be brave. Other then that, it's a skip.4 out of 10Brave New World - this special is about when the Freedom Fighters return to Robotropolis with out any control from Robotnik. Here they capture Snivley, encounter Sonic's parents, and the love triangle Geofrey St.John ends in a formal way. this issue is a nice way to re-establish the new status quoe, and it should be mentioned that Penders writes and draws this and I have to be honest, he does a pretty good job.7.5 out of 10Return of the King - This is the most dramatic special in this collection. in this volume King Max starts behaving differently and makes orders to the citizens that seem harsh. SOnic and Sally investigat only to find Naugus is taking over his body. Here we establish Naugus as the new villian and it is actually a call back to an unused plan that SATAM was going to do if it has a third season. Lastly, the art by Sam Maxwell is quite good here, but there are moments where the characters don't emote properly.8 out of 10.Thankfully, these are the last of the mandatory selects that you have to read to understand the plot.As for this volume, I think it's on par with volume 1 but not as good as volume 2.
