would a 13 year old enjoy this kit

If they are already familiar with the concepts it is probably to basic for them. I gave it to my 9 year old and she easily understood it and explored it in her own. She did enjoy it very much and then used some of the parts to turn a homemade solar car into one that used batteries.

How long does it take to assemble a circuit? Science class is 30 min long. Do you recommend assembling it in advance?

Depends on the circuit. I’d build several at home and disassemble…and be ready based on the actual project. It would have to be a fairly simple project to go start to finish and tested in 30 min. IMO. Good luck! M 😀
