I would give it 10 stars if I could!
My 9 year old Frenchie recently developed a few scaly bumps/lumps on his back & sides. The skin was completely flaking off with a sore at the center of the bump & his hair was coming out. I immediately started researching to see what I could do in lieu of him taking any type of medication. I tried a few different homeopathic treatments & although they helped a bit, nothing made the lumps go away completely & they would flare right back up. I researched a bunch of different medicated shampoos on Amazon before deciding on this one & I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Since my dog is small (25 pounds) with short hair, I didn't want something that would be too strong & potentially cause adverse effects, but I still wanted a product with effective ingredients. This turned out to be that perfect "in between" product! I shampooed my dog & the lather was nice & rich. I worked the lather into his skin & coat for a good 5 to 10 minutes as directed before rinsing. I was expecting this to smell God awful, but it actually smells quite pleasant and fruity. It rinsed cleanly & easily with no weird film being left on his coat. He looked & smelled lovely after his bath just as if I had used a regular dog shampoo! It didn't dry his skin out or cause any other issues so this definitely doesn't seem to be toxic or overly harsh. Over the next few days, no further spots appeared & the active sores COMPLETELY healed, dried up, & are 90% diminished. I waited 5 days to bathe him with this again just to insure any remaining spots were treated. I will continue to monitor him for any new spots, but I am so relieved to have found a gentle treatment that actually works. If you are looking for a similar product that isn't going to hurt your dog, I can't recommend this enough. Please note, he did not have any spots on his head or chest. I did not & probably would not use this in that area (unless absolutely necessary and I would use extreme caution) as I would not want it to get near his eyes. This product saved my dog from suffering & me from worrying so I cannot recommend it enough!

Good shampoo
Bought this at the recommendation of our vet for one of our dog constant biting on her leg and a skin issue. When used, it does help the skin issue but does not help with the biting.

This is amazing!
This shampoo is amazing! I have tried many shampoos. I read all of the reviews and decided I needed to just try this.I have a Shih Tzu with a ton of food allergies and a skin condition. I was told by our Vet that she had seborrhea and it was not curable. If I didn’t bathe her every week, she was waxy, greasy and smelly!I washed her once and could tell a huge difference! After the second washing…her skin had less scaly/greasy legions and she wasn’t waxy and smelly.I no longer have to bathe her every week. She almost lasts 6 weeks until she is groomed! She scratches less, her skin looks amazing and she doesn’t have that pink, irritated look anymore.I love this shampoo and highly recommend it! Give it a try, it is worth it.

Works great!
My 5 month lab had demodectic mites which I believe started from her ears as she was shaking her head a lot. I noticed one day that she had bumps on her back and when I moved back the fur, I could see crust forming on the fur. I thought it was her fighting with our pit. But as days went on, they spread further down the left side of her back and she had started to bite her fur off from scratching. So I did my research and eventually got this shampoo. I got 2 but I think I only needed 1. The bumps are gone after bathing her 3 times a week the first week, letting it set for 10 minutes and then doing another quick wash. The next week was twice a week with a moisturizing waterless shampoo in between because it was causing her skin to be dry. I also brushed her every night, and the mites caused a lot of dandruff but brushing helped get the bumps off and bring her fur back. It has been working well and I already see her fur growing back. Just know that it makes their fur feel very clean and rough and smells very much of perfume.

Smell not so bad; great lather and seems to work, but whole-house efforted needed, too.
The one cat I tried the shampoo on seemed improved immediately, and stayed okay for a few days, and all his sores are gone and still gone. But it was a struggle (and exhausting) getting him to submit to a bath. The shampoo makes great lather, so saturating his coat was easier than I thought it would be, but he still squirmed and scratched me and tried to get away, which added to my stress, along with his. Even though his coat was softer and his skin cleared up right away, he continued to bite and scratch himself as he had been doing before, and this has continued, even worsened, since the one shampoo I gave him. I think this is because I have not done the other important things to ride my household of this nasty scourge, namely vacuum, vacuum, vacuum, spray the clove spray, use the more chemical-laden fogger/bomber -- whatever it takes. Unless you get the mange mite out of your home, it will come right back on your animals. I have 5 more cats to bathe and a house that is still harboring the mange. UGH! If anyone has a better way or more tricks for the household eradication, please let me know.

First use review
So, I used the product yesterday. My dogs coat and skin seemed less irritated for my dog afterwards. However, a lot of flakes did appear after my dogs first bath using this product. I hope this works if I continue. Someone on here said that it’s best to use cold water? Not sure if that would help.
