I already reviewed this product elsewhere here on Amazon, but I must have purchased this second tin from another seller.Anyway, it is a fantastic product. Artisanal, made to exacting standard with a fantastic flavor. My understanding is that it gets it's smoke flavoring from the peppers being smoked over smoldering cork pieces (the by product of the wine and oil bottling industries in Spain). It is a sweet, mild, pervasive smoke flavor.The chilies themselves lend a mild spiciness, not over the top. It is a warming heat that builds slowly and lasts on your palate. Among other things, I use this pimenton to flavor chili (the Tex-Mex bean and meat stew). A teaspoon in a gallon sized batch gives a nice smoky quality and a decent hint of heat. More than that and it gets overpowering. I augment the spiciness with chopped fresh jalapeños.Sprinkle on deviled eggs, add it to your BBQ dry spice rub or wet marinade, flavor any kind of stew (fish, pork, beef, bean, vegetarian/ vegan), add to mayonnaise as part of a smoky aioli or dip, etc. Make homemade sausage (this pimenton is what flavors real Spanish chorizo, as opposed to the greasy Toloucan mess made from ground pigs snouts, ears and gristle that you eat in Mexican restaurants that they call chorizo).Anyplace you want sweet smokiness and a little heat.

Um, Um good, with apologies to Campbell's soup
A nice spicy paprika. Growing up thinking that paprika was something you just sprinkled over deviled eggs for looks, that had no taste. I was pleasantly surprised when I found La Chinata Paprika. Be advised that this spice on this is quite mild, and the smoke flavor is strong. Use good judgement when using it in dishes that simply ask for paprika. Use sparingly until you have found the level of spice you like. It is great anywhere you need a natural smoky flavor.

The Best !
I use a little of the HOT,along with the Sweet Smoked Paprika to give a dish a little heat.Great for complimenting Chipotle dishes,by substituting this spice,instead of adding too many chipotle peppers.(and thus making the dish way too spicy)..

The best...
This is the first one I tried and fell in love with. Don't bother with experimenting. I did. But alas... This is the one. It converts a simple dish to a special one. No wonder all the best chéfs use it. Just cook a simple dish of beans and add it. All of a sudden that simple dish becomes something special. And the aroma that fills your home is a dream.
