Worked Perfectly Even with Inflammation
Amazing product. My ears do not always pop at appropriate times during ascent and descent on flights, which means that every flight is a lottery of excruciating pain. I had a few flights scheduled while I had an infection of the ear canal and I was terrified that the pain was going to be unbearable. I ordered both these (Flents) and EarPlanes eP2 hoping that one or the other would work. Due to the inflammation in my ear canal, only these fit in my ear because the little blue bulb is much more flexible than the eP2 plastic pyramids. The one that I put in my infected ear did feel like it was misplaced, like it wasn't totally inserted, but it still worked perfectly. As soon as I would feel a little pressure in my ears, I would hold my nose and blow and I could hear the little puff go out through the vent in the middle of these ear plugs. I will never fly without these again.

Best pressure-reducing plugs on the market!
I experience a lot of discomfort in my ears when flying, and considering all of the business travel I do, have been looking high and low for a pair of ear plugs that will help. Earplanes are extremely uncomfortable to me and never feel quite secure enough in my ears. I had resorted to cheap foam earplugs to alleviate the pain, which work fine, but I read recently that these aren't appropriate for pressure changes and can even cause inner ear damage.Thankfully, Flitemate ear plugs did the trick. These are the absolute best solution to my issues that I've found so far. On a long overseas flight, they were perfectly comfortable to wear for the approximately two hours it took the plane to reach cruising altitude. I also love that they are washable and reusable, versus Earplanes that suggest you use them only once - for $8 a pair, this is a major rip-off. The only drawback that I can see is that they aren't as good as the foam earplugs for sound reduction, but I believe they are comparable in that area to any other pressure-reducing plugs on the market.I will definitely be buying Flitemates again!

No Pain
Just got back from vacation and used these on two plane rides. I usually have extreme ear pain on landing. I did a few things to try to relieve this. I bought these, use a Afrin nasal spray and a sinus med an hour before taking off. The ear plugs I put on at take off and left on until landing. I just brought a book to read as it's difficult to talk as you hear yourself in your head. On the first flight I had absolutely no pain. On the second plane ride a week later I did have a bit of a pressure feeling in one ear and it was a bit plugged up but again no pain.I have used decongestant medication and the Earplanes brand ear plugs (the only kind they sell in my local stores) and still had extreme pain. So I feel these these Flitemate Plugs really did work. On the package it says to only reuse 4 or 5 times. I definitely will purchase these again for my next flight as the first use seem to work better then the second.

they work really well...if they fit (UPDATED)
Specialized earplugs for airline passengers. They offer modest noise reduction ("NRR 22" rating), but their big benefit is slowing the pressure change as experienced by your inner ear.My set worked, and worked reasonably well, but they are dependent on correct placement. And that's the catch, as this brand was a very difficult (tight) fit in my adult-male ears. It's possible my ear-canals are unusually small, but at 5'10" (XL hat size), I'm not exactly a small guy.It was a struggle to get them inserted correctly (and I've worn different kinds of earplugs without problems). I could sort of partially wedge them in and they worked that way, but were prone to working their way out, so I was constantly checking them and adjusting them. When I say very difficult, not exaggerating. I used my set on 4 flight segments, and it often took a good chunk of each flight to insert them (and keep them inserted). Only one ear on one flight was fully inserted, the rest was just sort of wedged in (and in that state, one fell out during final approach, the worst time for pressure changes). The one fully inserted (at takeoff), I didn't want to remove until after landing, and noticed the size also makes them uncomfortable to wear for a long time (3.5 hour flight). As a bonus, the earplugs offer a decent amount of noise reduction without the aural pressure of noise cancellation headphones; voices are still clear, but white noise is reduced. The negative is you can't wear most low-profile or earbud headphones during the flight, you'll need the over-the-ear kind. For many of us, the rapid pressurization changes at takeoff/landing can be painful, and some people's inner ears (including mine) are structured such that it's very difficult to release unequal pressure. After a particularly bad set of flights on Spirit recently (a bad combination of rapid descent, irritated/dry mucus membranes, and who knows what), that left me with un-relievable ear pressure for days, I decided it was time to try out earplugs designed for this issue. From now on, I won't be flying without some kind of earplugs. My rating is 5* for function, but 3* for fit/use. The major positive works as advertised: slowed pressure changes in the inner ear. I was much more comfortable, felt only minor pressure, and had no trapped pressure for the first time in many flights. But they're difficult to insert, and I suspect the constant fiddling (to keep them in place) will shorten their expected lifespan. I'll keep using these, but will try out EarPlanes to see if they fit better. Anybody with small ears or small builds should pass on these Flents.UPDATE Nov 2017: I tried out the the competition (EarPlanes) which fit much more easily, but essentially didn't work. I also found these Flents were a (little) easier to insert after a few more reuses, presumably as the plastic gets worn out. This first pair has now lasted through more than 6 flights (and a lot of fiddling trying to get them to fit), and they still work well. So I'm increasing my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Still not the best choice for somebody with small ears, but they are the best I've found yet.

Don’t work at all, poor fit too. Don’t waste your money.
Bought these hoping that they would help with my ear issues when flying. They were a complete waste of money.Used on round trip flights for my recent travel. I followed directions. One went in and stayed in my ear, the other continued to be difficult to insert and slid out of my ear constantly. The post flight issues were just as bad after using these. I can’t return them since I used them so it’s just a waste of $12.

I had high hopes at high altitudes
I have terrible trouble flying due to my ears not popping and was eager for a solution. This was almost great.Pros:It did work on 1 6hour flight, once I got them inserted correctlyCons:Weird to insertDon't fit comfortably in the ear and the left one would fall right out of my ear if I tilted my headCost does not justify a one use only product.
