Great Deal
I am building a custom 3D printer, and it works great, just as intended. Also, a great value for what's included in the bundle.

Best hardware ever.
That's the best controller board so far. The first one was partly dead because the USB-C port was dead, but Jeff replaced it no questions asked.Great service Jeff, keep it up.

Good boards, bttpi good for basic build only
Octopus and drivers have been great. The missing star is because the bttpi is underpowered and struggles with attached USB cameras. I get 1-2 frames/sec, so will probably switch to a pi 4 or 5 to address that.

Want to add wacky stuff like auto wipe and auto print removal?
Are you serious enough about 3d printing that you wanna bump the game up to life threatening stepper voltages? Then this is your huckleberry because you can. Wanna dabble in 5 axis printing? Why not. Do it.

Disappointed
This is probably the most frustrating control board I've ever used. The Raspberry Pi that comes with this was DOA. No matter how many times I flashed an image to the SD card, it just wouldnt boot. Just a solid red light. I would then move that same SD card to a real raspberry pi 4 and it would boot just fine. Given this, I decided to forgo the klipper route and try just flashing with Marlin to get the printer running in the meantime, and after days, I have not been successful. My biggest issue at this point seems to be getting an LCD to work. Tried setting it up with a RepRap Discount Full Graphic smart controller I had lying around and was able to get the graphics to work, and clicking the encoder button worked, but the minute I tried to turn the encoder, the controller would reset itself. Spent hours going over the pinouts from the screen to the pinout in the config pins file, and then back to where they are defined and all appear to be correct, but no dice. So I decided to then try a MKS TS35 V2.0 screen I had laying around and it was even worse. I cant even get an image to show up on the screen. Then we move onto the power issues. I gave up on the screen and was trying to connect to the board via serial usb. The connection was inconsistent at best, and when I was able to get it to connect, none of the motors will work, despite having the stepper motor power posts connected to the PSU. In fact, the only thing I have managed to get to work at all using this board is heating up the hotend. Thats it.At this point im done with this board. If I could give zero stars I would, and if i still had the boxes this crap came in it would be on its way back.

where do I find docs for what is currently shipping for both optopus and octopus pro?
I now destroyed two npn no prox switches trying to make them work as a z probe on a 5 volt rail. The docs are a bit confusing. Other than that, a great product, I have used several of both of the boards in bigger printers. For a rebuild or a new design, these are do it all boards

Somewhat unreliable, but with few alternatives, it is still the one to beat
Tends to overheat in a hot garage without excessive cooling (read: 1000cfm room fan). I have had several fail in different ways. Tend to blow out individual circuits rather than kill the whole board, but often there is only one built in redundancy before you render the board useless (looking at you, heater circuits).

Great product. Nonexistent Support.
I bought this board to build a custom 3d printer. I'd researched for weeks on the "best" replacement boards and this one was always at the top of the list. It was delivered as promised, in beautiful packaging, with ZERO instructions. None. There's a piece of paper that says to go to their GitHub, Discord or F**ebook page. What if I don't use Discord or Facebook? Well, despite this board having dozens of options, hundreds of connectors, jumpers and headers, the "user manual" is 8 pages of useless information. Both the GitHub location and the "user manual" indicate that some drawings (very important power-related jumper settings) might be wrong. I had questions, so I tried the Discord - no answers. I tried multiple emails - no replies. After complete frustration set in, I tried Facebook. I was berated and bullied by several members (including an admin) for asking questions too "aggressively". Still no answers, though. Not a one. TLDR; buy this product ONLY if you have 100% confidence that you know how to configure and connect it because there will be no help from the people that make it. BTT has already warned me that they're going to bully and shame me some more, using my Facebook posts, if I posted an honest review. So, that's who you'd be dealing with if you need help with this or any other BigTreeTech product. They'll never get another dime from me and whoever's reading this should reconsider, as well.
