Internal mechanism tends to fail - Lifetime warranty not honoured
About a year ago (April 2018) I bought this Koler travel umbrella for my wife. Although initially impressed, I now believe this umbrella system is prone to complete failure within a short period of time (about a year or less), making it of little value. Seller has not honoured their "no questions asked lifetime warranty".The umbrella looked very good on arrival. Easy to use, initially appeared sturdy and reasonably light. The automatic mechanism appeared quite good: To open the umbrella you press the open/close button, which releases a spring inside the shaft. As the spring expands, it extends the shaft with it. Inside the shaft there is a string that comes out at the top of the shaft but stays under the canopy, as it is attached to the base of the ribs. As the shaft extends, the string is pulled inside and in doing so it pushes the base of the ribs up and the canopy extends automatically. To close the umbrella, one presses the open/close button again, the string inside the shaft is released, and the canopy collapses. Then you have to manually contract the shaft again. This rewinds the spring inside and resets the system.A couple of months ago (Feb 2019), I decided to buy an umbrella for myself. Happy with the automatic system from Koler, I bought an umbrella with essentially the same mechanisms from another seller (Balios). Unfortunately, my Balios umbrella failed at the third time of use (in April 2019). The mechanism that keeps the shaft locked in place appears to have been released before the shaft was contracted but while the canopy was collapsed. The result is an umbrella that cannot be used. It is now impossible to retract the shaft or open the canopy. The Balios seller where very good and promptly send a new umbrella. Unfortunately, within the same week, my wife Koler umbrella FAILED EXACTLY IN THE SAME WAY!!!! We now have 3 automatic umbrellas of which 2 have completely failed. This is a 66% failure rate which I consider to be to high. The new Balios is still working fine but not sure if it will last.I contacted Koler a couple of weeks ago about returning the broken umbrella and getting a replacement, given that the umbrella is advertised under a money-back no-questions-asked lifetime warranty. They replied quickly to my first message, telling me they would send me a replacement as soon as I gave them my phone number. I duly did give them my number, but have no received communications from them since then, despite having sent two more messages. Given that I offered to return the broken umbrella and given that they are supposed to act no questions asked, I find the whole process disappointing.Despite extensive googling, I haven't been able to find anything remotely close to repair instructions. Closely examining the umbrellas does not indicate any obvious way to open them up to try and repair them. I now believe that this type of failure should be rather common given that two out of three umbrellas I have with this system have failed. A real pity as they appeared very good at the beginning. The first photo shows the two broken umbrellas which cannot be retracted or expanded any longer, and the one still working umbrella (fully retracted). The second photo shows the bit of string in the Koler that pulls the canopy open. In the broken umbrellas, the mechanism that keeps the string tight is disengaged, and thus the string is loose and thus the canopy can no longer we extended.

A great umbrella for all weathers
I was attracted to this product by its ability to withstand wind gusts (double material) and strength with additional struts. It has proved itself in English Weather - and at a very reasonable price.

It's an umbrella
Not going to go overboard with hyperbole. It's an umbrella, after all.Folds small enough to fit in my rucksack, opens to be a little smaller than a golf umbrella.Fairly heavy, but it is said to be durable - don't know, haven't had any rain or wind since it arrived.Never had this with any umbrella before: Pressing the open button again folds it. You then have to manually squeeze down on the two ends to retract it down to its small size. That is quite stiff though.

Five stars ☂️
I brought two of these, one for myself and the other for my daughter, and I must say I am very pleased with the items. I was apprehensive about purchasing these umbrellas as there were quite a few mixed reviews but the umbrellas I received were nothing short from perfect. When I first opened my umbrella it was slightly troubled opening by itself but with a bit of help it soon worked perfectly; this only happened the first time and has been working just fine since. I would 100% recommend buying this umbrella.

Heavy and hard to fold away
This umbrella is really heavy and although it does have an open and close feature, the opening is slow and the closed umbrella still needs to be retracted which is really difficult even with both hands.Due to the fabric it's hard to fold away. Also the product tag is fixed into the cover and when I took the plastic packaging off the tag ripped straight through the cover so now I have a damaged item. What a shame... looked like it was going to be perfect.

not durable
This umberalla is made of ? The outer lining remains wet, it doesn't dry likely ordinary umbrella. I have used it now on and off for the last six months. two of the inner ribs are bending and when you put it up I have to pull them back to be normal

Good value for money. Compact size.
Compact size fits my laptop backpack. It's really good and looks really nice. I noticed however some rust on hinges. Even despite I keep it open until it dries well.

Expensive but brilliant
I bought this umbrella as a sunshade to use at archery competitions. I also bought the bigger golfing umbrella version and admittedly I do tend to use the bigger one more. This is a lovely compact umbrella with a nice folding/unfolding action and the fabric is multipurpose being both rain and sun proof. The wind gap is also a great design feature to prevent wind damage. It's well made and I expect it will last a very long time.
