Kiki's Delivery Service Picture Book Hardcover – June 13, 2006

Our kids (2yr and 4yr olds) love the movie and really enjoy reading the book at bedtime. It is a condensed version of the movie, but still pretty true to the plot and with lots of pictures from the movie. It is still pretty lengthy, but is broken down into mini sections (akin to chapters, but shorter), so it can be read in portions at bedtime. The book isn’t so long that it couldn’t all be read in one sitting, but it would take longer than normal bedtime stories. Our 4yr old likes to practice her reading with it since she has had it read to her so many times and has watched the movie plenty. It is a little complex for new/beginning readers to read solo though.Shipping took a long time, but it was worth the wait! The kids love it and it is a great addition to our Totoro book.

When I went on a Miya-san book purchasing binge from Viz, I wasn't sure how these picture books would relate to the 'Art of' books. Turns out these picture books are just that, re-tellings of the movies using the cell artwork and word balloons where appropriate. The glossy pages and images hold up well and the hardcovers are well manufactured in this batch. These books are suitable to reading to small children as bed time stories, though older readers may appreciate them just as much. They are complimentary to the 'Art of' books, but not replacements. Kiki is one of my top three Miyazaki movies (with Totoro, Ponyo) and it's great to see her wonderful village come to life on the pages with their beautiful background artwork. Very recommended.

A nice way to revisit one of my favorite children’s animations, one for myself and one for my grandchildren.It matches the Ghibli graphics and storyline.

Studio Ghibli has been my favorite movies growing up and now my daughter’s too. I got this book for her because she loves to read and wanted a Kiki book to take with her to school and on sleepovers. This is absolutely beautiful and follows the movie nearly exactly. Has all her favorite shots.So glad to have it in our collection.

Just beautiful, and the kids love it. Not the same as the original book the movie was based on; this is a book based on the movie.

Bought this for my 3yo after watching the movie and he loves it! This is my favorite of the Ghibli films and the book is a great way to still "watch" the movie without actually needing screen time.

Our toddler has had a Kiki obsession ever since we showed him the movie. We bought him this book and the Totoro book and he loves both - so much that we no longer watch the movies. The books are long and filled with lots of pictures from the movies. They are broken into chapters so you can read one or two before bedtime. You pretty much need to love the movies before reading the books. The stories in the books are only highlights of the movies but still do a good job of capturing the interesting moments.

Beautifully printers and designed. The accompanying story text is simple, but perfect for a toddler or young child.
