Best Medical Light for Dual EDC Use
Being marketed as a medical penlight I didn’t see many reviews from that perspective. There are tons of reviews about function and all the specifications so I won’t spend too much time on those. I hope to give my perspective as a medical student working on the front line of this pen light specifically as it functions in the medical field.Presentation : 10/10When I received the box I was immediately surprised by how small the light was. Lumintop did a great job of keeping the packaging to as economical as possible, keeping the waste to a minimum. Nothing to complain here with adequate instructions and the usual manuals.Build Quality : 9/10Of all the pen lights I’ve used ranging from disposable $2 lights to custom $50 dollar lights, Lumintop really knocked it out of the park. The disposable lights are built of plastic with the activation switch being a part of the pocket clip. The plastic lends itself to being naturally lighter than the aluminum that the IYP365 is made of. A lot of the time “lighter is better” in our world but let me tell you from first hand that the heft that comes with this light is a much welcome addition. With the disposable lights I’d often find myself bending over talking to patients or assisting in moving patients from beds to stretchers and the pen ended up slipping out. With the IYP365 the weight helps anchor it in my pocket as well as the positive retention of the pocket clip really keeps it from going anywhere. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve reached for my light and it not being where I left it.The tail switch was a little mushier than I had hoped it would be making the shifting between modes a little finicky at times so I hope they do a better job in the future. The threads and O-ring are quality and greased I’m never scared of getting the light dirty because I can just rinse whatever I get on it off.The light is actually a picture perfect fit in chest pocket of a medical coat with the light resting lightly on the bottom giving it support with a good coverage of the pocket clip being utilized. (see pictures)Function/Light Quality: 9/10This light blows any other light out of the water in this category. With disposable lights being dim to the point where the only function can during an eye exam or testing for pupil dilation they offer no function in wound recognition or during a throat exam. The IYP uses quality Nichia LEDS that are rated with a high CRI. High CRI = the higher the number the more accurate the colors you’ll see in layman’s terms. The difference between a slight inaccuracy in color might not making a huge difference when you’re walking your dog or fixing your car but in the medical field color lends a huge part of making the right diagnosis; from looking at what is growing inside your mouth or throat to identifying marks or growths on the skin. Better color rendition = more arcuate diagnosis and history taking.Lumens - low is low enough for eye exams. high is high enough to identify wounds at a scene at night. The only point I will dock from this light in function is the lack of customizability in terms of modes. While it does have mode memory (turning on the setting you turned it off as a medical light I wished there was a “medical” setting where it would turn on in low every time. I hate having to remember to check on my palm what mode I’m in before I can use it for routine eye exams. The Nitecore MT06MD has this function and it works great.Value : 10/10It jumps from $15-$25 dollars depending on what sale you catch this on and what codes you can find online. Great value for me because it functions as my EDC light when I’m not in the hospital. You won’t find a light with the quality of LED you’ll find the IYP365 in another light in this price range. If you’re considering this for medical school or in any medical field, buy with confidence. Lumintop has great customer service and back up their product with a great warranty.

Reliable, Durable, nearly perfect brightness, easy to clean
This is a fantastic pen light for medical examination. I've used it daily for >2 years first as a medical student and now as a resident; I consider it part of my essential tools: phone/pager, stethoscope, this light, pen, daily list. I have had no issues with its functionality; it is nearly perfect. The default brightness is spot on for most circumstances. The second brightness setting (pupil) is OK; I don't often use it for that. The third brightness is even more powerful than the first/default and can be very helpful for physical examinations where light isn't great. The color is excellent and has proved useful for multiple medical decisions.Battery life hasn't been an issue; I go months between changes.I really like the size and texture of the device. It has a good, durable weight without bulking up my front shirt pocket. The button has a nice feel: good detent with audible and tactile click; easily and quickly toggled through the various brightnenesses. The unit has survived countless drops onto hard tile flooring without evidence of damage (aesthetically or functionally). The clip is strong but easily slid over the shirt pocket; it holds firm. I often sanitize the light by wiping it down with the 'purple top' wipes at my institution; there is no discernible impact on function or appearance. The only tweak/criticism I can think of: the second brightness could be a bit more powerful Otherwise, I have no complaints. I highly recommend this pen light for daily internal medicine physicians. This is far superior to using the flashlight on your phone.

Excelente linterna

Great for Medical Professionals
This pen is great for a medical professional. Having three brightness settings is nice when you need to look in someone's eye without blinding them but also look in their throat and see clearly. I especially like the true color. So many pen lights washout tissue colors, making it difficult to decipher the amount of redness. However, this light keeps those different shades true-to-normal. It's also a nice looking flashlight that feels solid in my hand. I'm planning on buying a second one for camping. I think the light diffusor will be really handy in a tent or hanging over a table.

Great AAA penlight!
Just received the IYP 365 penlight. Build quality is great. I like the clip it holds well and is stationary in one spot. It has 3 brightness levels and a lot brighter than any AAA lights I’ve had in the past. On off switch has a solid on off click and half push will cycle you through the 3 brightness modes, and you can turn the head of the light a few degrees and back to cycle through also but I like the tail switch better. I tried it with greasy hands under my truck and had a hard time doing it that way. Comes with 2 extra o rings. I can say it’s oil proof also dropped it my oil recovery tray while changing my oil... ooops lol. Cleaned up very nicely and nothing got inside. Seems to be a great inspection light. I can see myself using it when working on things with small parts and for inspections when working on my guns. Attached are a few pictures of the unboxing and the different brightness levels at approx 10 feet cast on my wall. I’m going to start carrying it with me as work as I am a firefighter/ EMT. Works great in the medical field. It beats the cheap disposable penlights we are issued by a long shot..

Disappointing failure
Didn't last through a single set of batteries, just won't turn on at all. Was great when it worked but now it's going to the trash.
