One of my "go to" tools!
I've purchased three of these so far and for my work as a rigger and stage technician, it's one of my "go to" tools. Lightweights, sharp, and love that I can clip it to a carabiner.

Very Sharp
I work at a ropes course that requires this for safety precautions. The knife came very sharp out of the box and is very effective at cutting rope. It is very lightweight but well made. Occasionally after cutting through climbing rope, the knife would hit metal parts, but it did not get any knicks in the blade. The only problem with the knife is that it is a little difficult to open one-handed, especially when hanging from a line. I have used this for a summer, and it is still in very good condition, even after getting wet repeatedly and not being dried off.

Does exactly what its made for: cutting rope!
The Petzl Spatha is nothing more than a blade in a plastic case that has a carabiner hole. The blade has both a straight bevel and serrated section on the blade. The blade locks open and can easily be opened with gloves on. It meets the needs of a knife

My favorite knife
Wear this everyday. Set a carabiner thru my pants loop and thru the knife handle. Light weight, compact with a very sharp blade. Blade has held up well to a lot of non-knife uses. Prying, cutting wire, scraping, digging etc. lock holds blade very securely. Second knife because lost the first one after repair a wire harness on a semi and leaving it in the catwalk. Will buy another if I lose or damage this one.

Look for the smaller version.
Shame Petzl discontinued the smaller version of this w the serrated blade that cut through cord and tat like butter. This version feels cheap and flexible in your hand. Longer than it needs to be. Just… meh.

New version adds a lot of safety. Love the knife
I love the new version of this knife. The lock is a crucial addition, they also added some indent in the lock/rotation housing that helps keep it from inadvertently rotating open (something that could easily happen with the old version. Main body is plastic I think this is a good thing less metal to rust and weights next to nothing for a full size knife.

Light weight and easy to open while wearing gloves.
Its a very nice knife for yard work and fishing.

Cheaply made
I am disappointed in Petzl for the quality and price of this product. I know y’all can do better.
