Very nice upgrade from non leather sling!
Very happy with this sling! It's high quality, is easy to put on and looks great! I like the thumb hole and the extra cartridge holders, too.

Well Build & Adjustable
Looks amazing. Great craftsmanship and quality hardware. I love how adjustable the length is. Hold 45-70 rounds perfectly. Thumb loop is not as nice as a brown sling of theirs I have, but I don’t expect it’ll be problematic.

Great sling
Love this. My wife, from my suggestion as a Christmas gift, got me one for one of my rifles, so when I bought another rifle, I bought another sling, just different color. The stitching seems well done, no fraying in the threads. The thumb hole is such a nice feature, one that has been overlooked for centuries it seems. Such a small thing makes a huge impact on the comfort of holding the strap while carrying your rifle on your shoulder. The thickness of the shoulder pad makes for a comfortable carry as well plus it don't dig into you

Nice Sling
So this isn't made for the 45-70. I didn't read the description or thought I had since I had looked at so many sling/recoil pad combos. I chose this due to the matching pattern of the sling and recoil pad. Very nice looking and very thick. So to not let a nice sling go to waste, I took rounds and wrapped them with scotch tape to stretch the loops. I did this every night for about a week. Adding extra tape and forcing them into the loops. After about a week I used leather conditioner for the whole sling and especially the inside of the loops. Once again added the shells to stretch and let it dry. Now they fit like I would like them too. Not loose and not too tight. They will Not fall out. So 45-70 is doable.

Great strap, but no swivel studs to attach it to your rifle.
I love the leather strap! I did not like that there were absolutely no directions in the package or online about how to install the strap onto my 30-06 rifle stock. I also thought that it came with everything I needed to attach it to my Savage 110E, but it apparently does not come with the swivel studs that must be installed on the gun stock so you can attach the strap swivels.
