Braun Series 7 Electric Shaver for Men 7840s, Wet and Dry, Integrated Precision Trimmer, Rechargeable and Cordless Razor with Travel Case, Black

Have always bought Braun since i started buying electric razors, but i have to acknowledge this is the best yet. I am reluctant to spend hundreds for a razor and wanted the direct plug in charge facility after reading the poor responses for the recharge units. This razor is ultra quiet (unlike all my previous razors). The metal cutting head seems to provide a smooth close cut and the sonic facility had to be turned to low, so was clearly effective! Battery life is two weeks for me. I use it to shave my head daily as well. The travel case is a boon but would have liked a foil protector, as the razor is left to finish drying on the shelf - which always leaves me a little uneasy. I have no complaints at all, and every time i use it, i find myself simply enjoying a quiet, effective shave that leaves no sensitivity concerns whatsoever.

I purchased this razor with some trepidation at first, thinking that it probably looks better than it is but I would give 8t a try. Boy was I wrong!!First of all it's very well built, it's got good weight without being heavy but it's solid, no feel of flimsy plastic. I thought the shaver head was going to be plastic but it's metal which was a nice surprise.As for the shave, it's the best and closest shave I have ever had with an electric. I nearly always get a rash on my neck, even using the Phillips senso touch razor I was using before, but I've had nothing with this.I have seen one or two people saying they don't like the fact that it has sonic technology and vibrates but I don't find it strong or uncomfortable, in fact quite the opposite.If you are looking for a good quality razor that gives a very good shave then I cannot recommend this one enough.On a further positive note, this was dispatched to me very quickly as well so that was another thing to be happy about 😊

In the past I have owned only one Braun shaver but 3/4 Philishave, my current Philishave must be 20 years old and the charge is now lost for no apparent reason sometimes over a day; it still cuts well much better than some of the newer Philishave I have bought and subsequently dumped for my older model. The previous Braun I had was dire and abandoned very quickly.So it was with some trepidation I decided to give Braun another try, mainly based on the excellent write ups. I thought about a 9 series but read many reviews saying the 7's were better, better still this shaver seemed to have a massive discount and at a cost of £79 seemed relatively cheap for a Braun.I must say after week 1 it does impress it cuts better than any electric shaver I have ever owned and on some parts of my face cuts almost as close as a wet shave blade. Comfortable to hold it seems well made and sturdy, easy to clean and with a trimmer. I will keep review updated with progress but so far very impressed and great for the pricePity the charge cord doesn't fit in the case that comes with the shaver as the Philishave's always did.

I’ve had a Philishave cool skin for a while but the blades were going. Can’t find replacements and fancied a change as it always left hairs here and there. This Braun is a different league. The build quality is awesome. Touch and feel is very premium. The shave leaves the Philishave for dead. It’s very close, highly comfortable. I had no irritation where I usually get it at the sides of my neck. And that was a dry shave. The foil travel and head travel work well when going around your chin etc. I was going to give it a try and was ready to send it back if I didn’t like it under Braun’s satisfaction guarantee. But there no chance if that. Absolute love it and will be keeping it. The travel case is a nice little extra and again feels quality. If your thinking of switching like me then I’d say do it.

I found using a Wahl lifeproof electric razor (yellow blocky case) pretty good (not fantastic) once my skin acclimated but it was still a bit rough and needed lots of repeat passes to get a smooth-ish finish.I'm also of the follicularly challenged community and as such, wanted a great razor with better cutting, added comfort/less irritation, for use pretty much every day.This product has so far delivered!A week in and the step up in performance is fantastic.Not too noisy and cutting action is smooth and effortless. Still needs a couple of passes in places but it doesn't leave skin sore at all and I get no irritation or burning.Copes with my bonce just as well as my face and there's not much difference between this and a wet shave; certainly feels smooth to the touch.Price-wise it's about mid range, maybe a little towards expensive but certainly justified. I was looking at more expensive Braun models but there didn't seem to be much additional benefit from this model. Didn't bother with clean and charge station, cleans just fine under the tap.Battery life also good as I've shaved head and face every day for a week and shows no decrease in performance.Impressed and would recommend.

Decent shaver but when you’re shaving sometimes it leaks old hair bits. Also doesn’t come with a plastic cover for the head so once you’re finished shaving and put it in the case, old hair goes everywhere inside the case. Poor form for an expensive shaver.
