As perfect as it could be.
I got the correct amount of the correct product in a wall packaged parcel.Super powerful oxidizing agent! So many uses, like how I keep (separate containers of)potassium permanganate, acetone, glycol and sugar in my cars emergency kit to make fires in various ways.I've found a lot of interesting things it can do.The product works really well for demonstrating various chemical reactions that can be a learning experience for students. Of course you should do your homework before exposing a kid to any new substance. You should know that it will stain a LOT(and that vitamin c is the cure) you should know the medium of the product you are receiving, so you can prepare for powder. Make sure that you truly understand the nuances of the reaction you're doing.Seems the other 1 star reviewer didn't take proper precautions when working with two extremely powerful oxidizing agents.

No reaction. Hm.
i'd seen a video, a 'wilderness survival' sort of presentation done by a guy with an extensive military background who said this was used on occasion by the military to start fires. In the video, he mixed a little potassium permanganate with some sugar, stirred it a bit with a twig and it spontaneously burst into flames. In another review here too, by one 'Spencer L.' it's implied that this product will work in this way.Well, in my experiment with a freshly opened bottle of ChemieR™ Potassium Permanganate and a freshly opened packet of finely ground pure cane sugar, the oxidizing reagent yielded nothing but a sort of gray mix. NO REACTION. Read elsewhere that this material should also react with glycerine. Tried that and that didn't work either. This stuff does yield a lovely violet color if mixed with water and might make a pretty nice paint pigment if you're looking for that particular color. So it gets 1* of redemption.Potassium Permanganate can also be used as a topical antiseptic and also as a water purifier (if used in very small amounts). But, in that this substance did not react as potassium permanganate might be expected to, the true identity of the material is thrown into question and it might not be a good idea to expect it to perform as an antiseptic either.Disappointing.Will give Dawn Scientific, the manufacturers, a call in the morning but really have too much to do at the moment to go chasing down answers on stuff like this.

Huge mess
I bought this to make elephant toothpaste, but my my students couldn't use it. It was a huge mess and turned our fingers brown!
