The Pressure Cooker Saga
Had it a while but just encountered a disappointment caused by my trust of this page and the information it provides. The replacement gasket shown on this page, that you can buy as a bundle with this pressure cooker, does not fit this pressure cooker. Just ordered it, so I have one around when the current one begins to fail. The photo of the ill fitting Gasket I just purchased is included with this review.Got into using pressure cookers a couple of years back, when I got a Tower one of the same size as this one. Was all okay until it came to replacing the gasket sealing ring; they were out of stock for months on end, so I got in touch with customer services, who I can only assume took one from out of a cooker they had on a shelf somewhere.Anyway, it was as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike and by then we'd had enough ruined food from this thing that we couldn't be bothered with anymore dealing with Tower and simply researched Pressure cookers and found this one. A completely different design to the Tower one we had, that looked unlikely to flood the top of our hob, like the Tower one did when it was on it's last legs.Totally happy with this one, does a great job. Kept the old Tower thing to measure out the water content, because this one doesn't have fill lines but no worries, it just cluttered up the place for an extra week until I had measured out all the food types I use the pressure cooker on.Ironic ending to this saga, which I think reflects the state of British manufacturing; the day after the new Hawkins pressure cooker arived, Tower E-mailed me to let me know they now have sealing rings in stock.

dangerous item
It is an(expensive) rubbish product. Not only that but it is dangerous as well. It keeps exploding from the top cap and steam and food-liquid goes all over your kitchen. You can get burned if you are close or trying to stop the explosion. very dangerous if you have kids around. Doesn't matter on which number you keep the heat, it will explode when it is full steam, as the cap supposed to let the over steaming out slowly is too heavy and is not working.I used it 4 times only, and then, throw it away. I spent half a day cleaning the kitchen walls tiling and floor, as well as all the other items which were on the work top
