Outstanding gear for way less than they should be charging!
I decided to try my hand at streaming again but didn't want to shell out 200$ for equipment again not knowing if I'd stick with it. Did some research, watched some reviews and settled on this one the Fifine AM8.Honestly I did not have super high expectations because it came with a boom arm and the mic for like 60 bucks total? Most sub 100$ mics on amazon just aren't very high quality, but boy was I mistaken with this one.Out of the box this mic was crystal clear with vocal quality and super easy to start using. It didn't come with any proprietary drivers or software which normally some might have issues with but I use OBS and customize the nitty gritty stuff with filters and settings inside of OBS so I wasn't missing anything. It was plug and play which is always appreciated. The cable that came with it was USBC to USBA which I found make the audio a tiny bit crackly, still great quality for discord calls, but when it came to streaming it was a little more than I was hoping for. So I bought a USBC to USBC cable and the fuzziness immediately went away. I would absolutely love to try this with XLR since its also built into the mic, but since I don't have an audio mixer this review is mainly about USBC to USBC.The pop filter is great making P and S sounds less harsh. I found by place the mic right next to my mouth and not in front of it also helped a lot and the sound was able to hit the top of the mic (because its dynamic) with no issue without being too harsh. From the sides and back the mic barely picked anything up (thats what we want to happen) and with simple noise suppression or noise gates that went away completely. The boom arm does not come with a shock mount which honestly would have been amazing. I did notice without all of my filters and audio adjustments in OBS that if I gently tap my desk, the mic pics up the vibration very easily even though its on a boom arm. I couldnt find any shock mounts that fit this either. It would be great to have the option to buy that accessory to complete the entire mic ensemble. Otherwise everything about this mic is fantastic and has far exceeded all of my expectations when it comes to what I was hoping to receive. I am blown away by the quality for the price, my subscribers think the voice quality is extremely clear and easy to understand, so if theyre happy so am I.------------------------------------------------------------Update: After about 5 months I ran into an issue where even using USBC i would start getting crackly fuzziness in the mic. The issue followed the mic around so I knew it wasn't any of my settings. It got pretty bad to where it was affecting streams. I contacted the company and they sent me troubleshooting steps on how to resolve the issue, I followed them all and unfortunately the issue did not resolve. Fifine decided it was likely a hardware issue or something faulty with the microphone, asked for my address, and sent me one in 2 days to replace it. The customer service from FIFINE is absolutely outstanding! They not only saved my but on stream by getting a mic to me within my next streams schedule but stayed in contact with me the entire time start to finish making sure I was helped to my satisfaction and that they did everything to assist me in a way that resolved the issue.Fifine is an absolutely amazing company and I will buy stuff from them specifically going forward because a great product + a great price + outstanding customer service area literally everything I look for in companies I buy products from. Super impressed by everything start to finish so far!

Good Quality and Feature Set at a Great Price
Great ease of use and mic quality. The onboard controls for audio and passthrough are also appreciated. The mic functioned better than my previous one, and the arm was also very easy to set up and useful. The quality of sound is great, and the sensitivity is great.

Audio Engineer Hobbyist's Opinon
QUICK OVERLOOK: Good for the price, but take the springs off the boom arm the second you unbox it. if you want to see what I mean. This mic is an amazing low budget choice for live streaming, podcasting, and talking to your friends online. It looks good, sounds good and is easy to set up out of the box. It's also very versatile but simple at its core. This is my opinion if you're not thinking too seriously. Now, my honest overall opinion as someone who does audio engineering for a hobby, this product is pretty mediocre out of the box. The first thing I noticed was how extremely noisy the boom arm is any time you bump any part of it and if it's attached to a gaming desk, the vibrations from the keyboard etc. were obnoxious. That is until I realized the springs that the boom arm has have ZERO STRUCTURAL IMPORTANCE. I wanted to get rid of the vibrating sounds and noticed it was the springs that were making most of it. So I took them off hoping it wouldn't mess with the way the arm worked and lo and behold nothing bad happened. The way the arm worked did not change one bit and it turns out the springs have no use. Also, another thing about the structural build: The fact that the spot where the connections are at is on the bottom of the mic makes it really aggravating to use the swivel that it has. If you try to swivel it in a certain direction, the cords get stuck on the metal part that the mic is being held by.Next I’d like to mention the AUDIO QUALITY: Fairly good. A normal person not paying attention to quality wouldn't notice anything odd and would think it sounded pristine. However, in my personal opinion, out of the box, plugged into my computer via usb, the high frequencies like S’s and CH’s in speech were piercing my ears. So, VERY crisp sound, but almost too crisp for my taste. This is kinda an off topic part, but is the thing that blew me away and sold my appreciation for this mic. I bought this mic with the intent and expectation to use it only for streaming and video gaming. But as an audio engineer, (and a bit of a weirdo) I've always been interested in ASMR. I’ve always had the thought of making my own, but I've never had the money or quality enough mic(s) for me to be happy with it. But I noticed how clean and quality this mic's sound was and it gave me the idea to try doing asmr with it. The only downside was that sounds like taping, and blanket rubbing on the mic were ruined by the metal grate that the actual physical microphone is surrounded by. So I became a goblin tinkerer and unscrewed a few things to get the piece off and voila, I was left with the top of the mic that was underneath everything and I was able to get very good tingly and comfy sounds out of it. So I decided to buy a second one of the same exact model in order to have a binaural effect. So very good mic overall. Useful in many ways, you've just got to do some tinkering to get it to do what you want. It’s very good for recording talking, recording instruments like acoustic guitar and happens to be exceptional for ASMR.

One of the best, and cheapest microphones out there.
This was the first stand microphone I've ever bought and I honestly love it. I saw reviews for it on YouTube before I bought it because I wanted to make sure I got a good deal and I'm pleasantly surprised at the quality! I don't have any complaints and everything about it is perfect. The light is a nice touch, and all of my friends can hear me clearly, the only thing is the "volume" and "gain" knobs are kind of useless? I always have them at max since no one can hear me if they're in any other setting. But it connects fine, it's a simple USB, I haven't tried the mixer connection or the headphone jack because I don't need them but I'm sure they're useful to others. This microphone has survived two years of almost everyday use and even a move from halfway across the United States and still works like a charm. I don't think I'll ever have to buy a new boom arm or microphone, and that's what I love about this thing.
