Max Factory Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Syukufuku wo! 3: Megumin Figma Action Figure

Likes: This Megumin figure does an excellent job capturing the likeness of her character. The paint is crisp and even, with the typical matte finish you’d expect from a Figma figure. Plenty of accessories such as alternate faceplates, hands, her pet cat, her staff, and even an explosion effect for the staff. The joints are nice and tight, and the figure feels sturdy. It also includes the typical Figma stand that comes with their figures. While Figma are technically “non-scale”, this one scales just fine with my other Figma figures as well most of my SH Figuarts figures (she is most likely not exactly 1/12 scale, but due to the age of her character, she would likely scale fine with 6 in. Figures despite being on the smaller side.)Dislikes: while the figure includes an alternate hair piece that has Megumin’s eyepatch on it, despite my best efforts, I could not get it to completely cover her eye as intended. It simply does not line up with the faceplates properly. This is annoying, as I was hoping to display her with the patch. I think it would have worked better if they had included a faceplate that had the patch on it. Another rather tedious and irritating feature that the figure has is regarding the hat. Inside the hat there is a thin clear plastic tab, made of a similar plastic as the window of the box, that you are supposed to stick between the front hair piece and the back of her head. It is meant to keep the hat from falling off, but it doesn’t fulfill this task all that well. I found that while attempting to pose the figure I kept knocking the hat off, and because the small plastic tab ended up bending, it became a chore trying to get the hat back on without having to completely pull the head apart each time. This made getting her in the desired display pose a bit of a fight. I also think this figure (and most figma figures for that matter) is a bit overpriced. While it is definitely the best articulated Megumin you are likely going to find, I wish the price was a bit less.Overall: I really like this figure. While there are some elements of the design that are a bit cumbersome and could have been done differently, I do feel the positives do outweigh the negatives. if you are a fan of Konosuba or Megumin, then this figure will make an awesome addition to your collection.
