This model needs a subscription to use. My sisters & I loves these lamps. They are very basic. The fun is that you can touch it & remind them you are thinking of them. You can do it from your phone. To see it light up will make you smile! You can only join one group per lamp. Maybe the more expensive list has more options. I wanted to make sure we love them before we spent more money. So far we do. We paid for a one year subscription for around $25. In a year, we will decide if we want to get something that is a little nicer looking.

I bought this for myself and my three daughters. I have one daughter and two grandchildren in Tenn. and one daughter in Oklahoma. One daughter next door. As I am writing this my daughter in Oklahoma is saying hello, her color is pink. My grandchildren have had a ball with these changing to their colors back and forth. I love that I know they are there. We even bought an additional one and added it to the group after Christmas. Great product!Update 6 months after I wrote this glowing review our lamps are one by one disconnecting from WiFi and refusing to reconnect. One of my daughters got hers to connect again after she PAID for a subscription. I was told at purchase that as long as we were not using them remotely that no subscription was required. I feel like I’ve been lied to and after enough time has passed we cannot return them.

I got one for my son who was moving to Ohio and one for my husband to place on his side of the bed and one for me to place on my bedside. My husband chose the color green, I chose pink, and my son is blue. Now my son can tell who specifically is touching the lamp, mom or dad. We touch the lamp several times a day to let each other know we’re thinking of each other. We’ve had them for several months and they have been perfect. No connection issues and no glitching. We also use the app Which you can tap for your color when you are away from home. There’s also an option For the lamp to go dark after a certain Time of the night and then come back on In the morning. I have been exceptionally pleased. I did not have to set up all three devices together. My son took his to Ohio and set it up and my husband and I set ours up in Georgia. We had no issues. The app is really easy to use. You do have to pay for the subscription, but it’s incredibly cheap and I think the year is maybe 20 something dollars. I went ahead and paid for hours and my sons for the year so we don’t have to worry about it. It’s a small price to pay to know that at any time of the day you can let your loved ones know that you’re thinking about them and they can do the same for you. It truly warms my heart to see The lamp change colors.

Great way to connect w far away family or friends, the size of the lamps are perfect, quality is great. There is a subscription that is needed to make them work. I bought mine to share w my grandchildren that live in another state.

Thought this would be fun for my daughters and their cousin. Very deceiving price. The price looks great but then you have to download an app and pay a subscription fee… not worth it.

I bought this as a family Christmas gift, one was for my mother in love, one for my daughter/ granddaughter (in Hawaii) and one for us. It is the most entertaining game when everyone gets to tapping… you can’t resist the urge to tap. Easiest way to send a little bit of love without having to stop what you are in the middle of doing. Easy enough a 2 year old understands!! Previous reviews were a little confusing, there is NOT a subscription required if you are ONLY using the lamps, if you choose to be notified, on a device other than the lamp, and tap or a device other than the lamp, then you must have the subscription plan. I hope that helps someone else that is considering this delightful piece!!

The lamp won’t stay connected to the Wi-Fi. Every day I have to reconnect it. I even move the lamp next to the router and it still doesn’t stay connected. The colors are pretty, when it does work it’s fine. But having to reconnect it daily is annoying. When it’s not connected to the Internet, it flashes constantly.Update. Still can’t stay connected to the Wi-Fi. Very annoying.

Bought this for my mom as a gift and it arrived scratched and has loose pieces inside. I looked passed that and took the worse looking one to my home so we could touch it to show my mom I was thinking of her. To my surprise, the piece of junk won’t let me do anything. The app says it’s connected but the website to connect to another lamp is awful and will not allow me to do anything. Do not buy this horribly made piece of garbage. I will be returning this item.
