Q: Can you shorten the waste pipe?

Of course you can always cut the pipe shorter, however the problem is you would no longer have the molded connections. and that is on either pipe. The best thing is to connect and try to loose the extra pipe behind the machine.

Q: Would this fit a swan dishwasher

This will fit any uk washer or dishwasher

I had the adapter in place as this was s like for like tsp

I have done so very successfully without any mishap. It needs to be done with the proper pipe connectors. Dennis.
