Did the job perfectly on an aluminum shotgun receiver. I don't know how it works on harder material, but works well on aluminum.

I could only laugh when I opened the red and blue packaging that says "America's Cutting Tool Connection," only to see that the tap says "CHINA." It did it's job, though...

I'd probably pick a different brand if I was you.
I just wanted to tap a piece of brass. The drill bit did its job just fine. The tap would do nothing. I tried several times until my piece of brass was ruined. I then tried to thread the tap into a known 5/16-32 hole and it still would not thread in. The tap was just flat wrong. Don't buy this one. I used the drill bit and bought another tap of a different brand and then things worked just fine. I wouldn't buy this one again.
