Get Those Sea Legs Ready!
My family and I were fortunate to be gifted the best-selling Cluedle books – The Case of the Dumpleton Diamond (see separate review) and The Case of the Golden Pomegranate. The Case of the Golden Pomegranate – the second installment featuring the super sleuth Hartigan Browne sets sail on the high seas on a super yacht. Budding detectives will need to solve, who broke into Alotta Vibratto’s safe, how was the professor’s milkshake poisoned, what is hidden in an ancient maze and who has gone overboard?!!Just like its very successful predecessor, this book is jam-packed with 50 brain-busting puzzles that challenge readers to hone their detective skills. The case is outlined at the beginning of the book and each chapter presents a new mystery to solve, making it an extremely original, interactive and immersive experience. My 12-year-old son was equally excited if not more, to start cracking the cases in this second book. Once again, he applied spatial and logical reasoning and was completely absorbed throughout. We had to beg him to put the book down at times for dinner, outings, etc!! There are helpful hints to the puzzles along the way and the answers are at the back of the book. I do wish the answers were in a separate booklet as it's very easy to take a sneaky peek! My son chose to note his answers in a notebook as opposed to marking the book as he wants to re-do the book with both his younger and older brothers (and doesn't want to give anything away.)I think these books are a breath of fresh air! There is a perfect balance of puzzles and stories to keep any child engrossed. It can be picked up and put down at any time and takes up minimal room if you're out and about on your travels.Once more, the family found the Cluedle books to be a fun, engaging and educational read that encourages critical thinking and problem-solving. It’s an excellent choice for holidays, car journeys, rainy days or as an alternative to screen time. A big thumbs up from all!As mentioned at the beginning of this review – we were gifted these books for free but this is an honest review.

Interactive Whodunnit - Reading Made Fun!
We were gifted this book, but this is our honest review. If you have a reluctant reader in the family, I'd recommend "The Case of the Golden Pomegranate" Cluedle mystery book as it cleverly weaves skills of numeracy, literacy and reasoning into a story that will engage your child and keep them occupied for ages, as they play detective and try to solve the case!I would say this is suitable for 8+yrs to enjoy on their own (due to difficulty of puzzles), but we have also enjoyed this with my 4 year old - working through the clues together :)The puzzles are thought provoking without being too complicated and are lots of different styles to keep the young readers interested. There is an opportunity to write your findings in the book itself, but we preferred to write in a separate notebook to allow the book to be fresh for another go.There are helpful hints along the way to set you on the right track in figuring out the puzzle without giving too much away. Answers are at the back.My daughter likes the way you are made into a character and "talked" to in the book. There are natural breaks in the story as there are several parts to solve, enabling the child to do a bit and come back to it later (although my daughter couldn't actually wait to find out what was going on, so couldn't put it down once she got started!)I actually enjoyed it as an adult too, as it's quite fun to get involved in the gameplay as well as the story itself - there aren't too many books on the market that make a game out of a book and this is especially handy when trying to entertain children during the holidays or travel without resorting to screen time!Think this puzzle book can be enjoyed individually or as a small group, which makes it a versatile downtime activity. Can't fault it; good balance of puzzles and story and just the right level of difficulty so child is engaged without getting bored or frustrated. Keeping my eye out for more in the series!

Cluedle: The Case of the Golden Pomegranate
"Cluedle: The Case of the Golden Pomegranate" is an intriguing mystery novel that masterfully combines elements of classic detective fiction with a modern twist. The author excels in crafting a vivid setting, immersing readers in a world where every character and location holds potential secrets. Cluedle’s sharp wit and deductive skills are well-portrayed, making him a relatable and compelling character. One of the book's strengths is its pacing. The plot moves briskly, with enough twists and turns to keep even seasoned mystery readers guessing.
