Finally, an at home solution that really works
I’ll break this up into two parts, a short review for the TLDR folks, and a longer review for those who are on the fence about spending hard earned dollars and need more information. From a self-proclaimed female Sasquatch who has been extremely bothered by hair (thick and fast growing) in places that women aren’t supposed to have hair all my life (and I'm half a century old), this has worked for me. I received this device on January 14th, and I’m writing this on March 14. Does it hurt? Mostly, no. Occasionally on the highest setting, I would feel a sensation like a hot rubber band BRIEFLY being snapped against my skin. It subsides before you can even say ouch, it's that quick. That’s the short review for people who appreciate conciseness. For the overthinkers, infinite researchers, or more detail-oriented people (hello my tribe), keep reading. It’s long but if you’re truly my tribe, you’ll probably appreciate it.I love this product. Shaving has always been a chore that required advanced planning and extra-long showers. If I shaved my mustache or my chest, I would have a five o’clock shadow by days end. Wearing a low-cut top was anxiety inducing. Crop tops? Not with my happy trail AND that small patch of hair on my lower back. I don't like putting this all out there but I want you to understand exactly where I’m coming from. Here are some suggestions that worked FOR ME to see the amazing results that I’ve seen so far.1. Read the instructions. ALL OF THEM. The instructions were written by the people who created the device. Who better to help you get the best results than the people who created the device? And, there may be something in them that is specific to your situation, allowing you to return the device within the return window.2. This device DOES NOT treat white, gray, blonde, or red hair. No laser or electrolysis can treat these hairs, and anyone who tells you differently is lying. The laser has to be able to “see” the hair to treat the follicle. On that same note, this is why it’s important to SHAVE. If the hair is too long, all you’ll do is burn the hair which doesn’t work.3. For my pluckers, YOU CAN’T PLUCK while using this device, you must SHAVE. There HAS to be a hair in the follicle for the device to treat. I get it, I’m a plucker. I’m a mother plucker, and have been all my life. Resist the temptation. If you must pluck, pluck the white, blonde, and/or gray hair to satisfy the need (refer back to item 2).4. Ladies, invest in one of those battery-operated shavers to shave your upper lip and chin. Please don’t use a razor on that sensitive skin, it will only cause problems with this process.5. A message for my brown brothers and sisters. If you’re on the lighter side like myself (refer to my pics), before you lay out your coins, confirm the return policy. If Amazon’s return policy isn’t acceptable to you, try the manufacturer’s website. Be sure you can get your money back if this doesn’t work for you. For those who are truly darker, I implore you to keep saving your nickels and consult with a professional who has a lot of experience using a YAG laser. And if the consultation isn’t free, look elsewhere. Do not damage your beautiful skin by trying this type of at home solution.Tips to make the process easier:1. You MUST be committed. If you lack time, patience, or both, save your money. This ain’t for you.2. Consistency and organization are key. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. I get it, you want to be hair free NOW. But if you try to do your whole body in a day, you will lose motivation and want to quit. Start with a SMALL test area on the LOWEST setting (you know, like the instructions say) and wait a few days to see if you have a reaction.3. I started by shaving one area of my body then treating it directly after shaving in the shower (literally 15 minutes or less). When I started my legs, I shaved my right leg from the knee up and treated it with the device every other day. I would only work on that part of my leg (every other day) until I was satisfied with the results. When I was happy, I moved on to the lower half of my right leg.4. Use the calendar on your phone to stay organized. Make note of which areas of your body you treated that day. This will also help you track your results.5. Your hair grows in cycles. You may see results in an area, and then another hair cycle will start to grow. This doesn’t mean it’s not working. You HAVE to be consistent. For the best results, treat this like a second job.6. You are traumatizing your skin so act accordingly. Don’t start out on the highest setting because you think it means faster results. Body washes, soaps, and moisturizers with lots of perfumes and chemicals could cause you to break out or experience rashes. Same goes for going out in the sun. Cover up and use some SPF. I used a salt scrub in the shower on my legs the day after spot treating the lower half of my leg, and almost immediately my skin started reacting with little red bumps. I put aloe gel on it and the rash was gone within minutes. Which by the way I recommend, using aloe gel on your skin after every treatment. I bought a cheap brand with cooling properties in it for about $1 in the sun tan section of my local box store.7. Just a warning, based on my research trying to find actual users with real results (I will research something to DEATH before buying something high dollar), if you have herpes (oral or genital), the trauma from this device could potentially cause outbreaks. I’m keeping it 100% real in this review.A cautionary tale, or what NOT to do:I saw results quickly on my forearms, but one day I noticed a few missed spots (or another growth cycle). I’m going to refer to the intensity settings as low, medium, high, and super. Instead of using the lowest setting (which worked well), I decided to use the super setting. I broke out in a rash, which escalated to hives. Remember when I said you are TRAUMATIZING your skin? Act accordingly. I saw fast results the first few times on the lowest setting, there was no need to dial it up. Lesson learned. My results:I thought my legs would take the longest to react, but surprisingly the results were quick. PRO TIP: I bought a white eyeliner pencil and drew vertical “swim lanes” on my legs to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. For those with darker skin on your inner thighs (thick thighs save lives, IYKYK) or bikini area, there may not be enough of a contrast for the laser to zap the hair in those areas. I’m satisfied with my “happy trail,” those results were quick. For transparency, I had electrolysis on my chest years ago, and I was about 95% happy with the results (I couldn’t afford to keep going back for maintenance), so it was easy to treat the remaining 5% of growth. My underarms are a work in progress, but I see a difference. They never bothered me, but I want my money’s worth. As for my upper lip, and a few strays just under my lower lip, I saw a difference almost immediately on the low setting. I’m getting a few sporadic hairs at this point so it won’t be long. My chin is about 90% complete, but I swear there are a handful of follicles that REFUSE to die. I’m so tempted to just pluck them! But I’m consistent and keep at it every other day. Overall, if this device quit on me today, I’d say it was worth the money. I’m happy with my results so far. And I'm not sure if it will show up or not but to be clear, I am an Amazon Vine member, however I did NOT get this device through Vine. I am a real customer, I paid full price, with my own money, and I am not a social media "influencer."

It works! Great device and customer service!
Let me tell you that this device is a game-changer. I was tired of shaving my legs, and shaving wasn’t a solution for me anyway because I could still see the dark hair through my skin on my ankles. So, for years, I’ve been epilating at least my ankles whenever I had the energy. But when shaving, I‘d have stubbles on my legs by the evening or the next morning. After using the device for 3-4 weeks, I noticed a significant difference in my hair growth. It was much slower and thinner. I’ve never had such smooth skin, not even when I epilated. Now, about the device itself. After using it for 3-4 weeks, I noticed that the fan would go off as soon as I plugged it in without turning the device on. I reached out to customer service, and they were incredibly helpful. They asked me for more information and offered a replacement if I was interested. They created a return label and said they’d send a replacement as soon as I told them the return was in transit. The entire process was incredibly fast from their side. They stayed in touch throughout the entire process, even when I wasn’t always the fastest to respond. They also asked me if the new device was working, which is a great touch.I’ve never seen such a responsible customer support team. They’re truly impressive!

HOLY SMOKES. Insanely surprised and insanely grateful
okay wow. I went through a male puberty and I have dark, thick hair on my arms and legs as a result. I used to have to shave every 2 days if I didn't want to look like a werewolf. when I got my ipl, I patch tested on the highest setting (the shr setting) and waited 2 days. after seeing no adverse reaction of the skin, I moved forward with the highest auto setting for my legs, first (I don't necessarily advice just going with the highest setting first, but I had pretty tough skin from male puberty as well, and nothing bad came from the patch test, so I went for it). I wanted to make sure that I was being objective and so I also used it on one perpendicular strip of my left arm. after only FIVE treatments of the highest auto setting (and plenty of shedding hair from my skin haha), my legs were nearly completely bare of course dark hair, and even the hair that still grew seemed to take WEEKS to get as long as it would have gotten in just a few days before (this part i cannot be 100% sure on but thats how it felt). you can see in the pictures how big of a difference it made on that left arm strip. I drew lines down the middle so you could see the two untreated sides sandwiche the bare treated strip in the middle. I let the hair grow for a while so you can see the difference better. something else that you can see in the pictures is the strip on my arm seems more even in skin tone and less... blotchy maybe? (don't mind the super weird looking scars, I've had those since elementary school haha). interesting affect on the skin,, but I like it a lot. I've heard ipl can reverse some damage so thats likely what we are seeing in the pictures. aaand then I started taking oral minoxidil after lapsing on my ipl. boom, all of the sudden a lot of the hair came back. im going to stop the minoxidil and start my ipl again and will update with results. been meaning to make a review for a while and finally got around to it. btw its suuuper satisfying when you start to see the hairs just start falling out and sluffing off lol. thank you Ulike, it is honestly such a relief not having to manage my body hair as much anymore <3some advice and things of note:no, it does not hurt. I was so nervous the first time, I had it running for like a minute straight before finally putting it on my skin. and I shrieked when I did lol. but turns out it was just ice cold and thats what surprised meyou may feel a small snap if you zap a hair that is longer and got missed in your shavingmake sure you do not ipl after applying lotions creams etc. I always did it right after drying from the shower. then, make sure to moisturize AFTERexpect it to take time. my full legs, bikini line, underarms, happy trail, and that one strip on the arm took me about 2 hours when I was starting, now a little more than an hour and a halfwear the glasses. I also close my eyes on every zap as well as wearing the glasses. you only get one pair of eyeballs so take care of them!I found the best experience when doing a sugar scrub exfoliation, then shaving, then ipl, then lotionif it gets hot to hold, set it down and let the fan run for a couple minutes. it's worth the longevity of the product to sacrifice 10 mins overall per session to let her cool down a touchoverall thoughts and impressions:super easy to use LOVE the auto zap!!ergonomic design can be lacking at certain angles but its not gonna gimme carpal tunnel to use so whateverif the air vent is pointed toward you, you will still see a ton of the flash, hence why I also close my eyes in addition to the glassesthe device feels high quality and has a good heft. the sapphire air tech or whatever truly means no/very little pain if you do it rightI wish that the window was designed maybe a little bit bigger so whole body sessions would be quicker, but I suppose the current design allows for more versatility so I'm ok with itit costs money. and to be honest I don't remember exactly how much without checking. but I DO constantly remember how worth it it was for me to not have to constantly stress about hair where I don't want itoverall 5 stars easily. well worth the money
