This is a wonderful Japanese design for an experienced cook. It can easily slice, dice, chop vegetables, fruits, lightly crush garlic and shovel up veggies easily. It's design actually being somewhere between being a knife and a meat cleaver. It makes cutting melons as easy as slicing toasted bread. BUT: Its sharp as an old time, men's razor blade and should be used with caution. I personally use it for hard jobs, still rarely with meat and still with great caution. Yup I do love it, gives competition for my fine German knifes...

This is a very nice knife. It is light and the blade is not too long, and boy is it sharp. The handle is minimalistic, no funny curves to fit my hand just a nice taper. I don’t understand the importance of the steel layers, I’m not gonna be chopping wood with it, but otherwise it’s a good knife.

For a China made knife under $100 using vg10. This is knife for its category is pretty decent knife. It doesn't compare to my $200 knives of course but a for a budget friendly knife. You really can't go wrong with the Supreme Series. Well balanced, quality steel. Only issues are minor fit and finishes most people wouldn't even notice. Other than that it's a great budget Japanese style knife series

Everything in the advertising led me to believe I was purchasing an authentic Japanese knife. The product description includes phrases like “Japanese kitchen knife” and “made of Japanese VG-10 steel,” which strongly implies that the knife itself is made in Japan. The presentation feels misleading. If you're looking specifically for a Japanese-made knife, be aware that this is not one.When the package arrived, I was deeply disappointed to see it clearly marked Made in China. While the steel may (or may not) be of Japanese origin, the knife itself is manufactured elsewhere — an important detail that should have been made clearer upfront.It is sharp! I was easily able to shave off arm hair (like with an old fashioned straight razor) with the knife right out of the package. I will keep it because it is so sharp.

Very well made, very sharp. Versitile knife style. The wood handle needed some oil, I used lemon oil that I use on guitar fret board. Sharpen with Japanese stones and water, so invest in those and a sink bridge.
