Fortunately I have had to use it but it is peace of mind knowing how easy it is to use if I have to. No mess, no recharging, and no heavy equipment

After purchasing my first fire blanket I ordered more for Christmas gifts for the whole family. These blankets are in a easy to hang storage bag. To release the blanket you just pull on the black tabs and toss the blanket over the fire. The blanket is large enough to cover the top of my stove and small enough for anyone to handle. My husband uses these blankets when soldering or welding around items that he doesn't want to get hot or burnt. I personally think these blankets are as important as a smoke detector and every home should have at least one. I am very happy with my purchase and will be buying more.

Hopefully I'll never have to use it I can't give a good or bad never using it.

To be clear, the box says the blanket is 39 inches by 39 inches. The product description is inconsistent where it identifies the blanket as 40 by 40 in some places and 39 by 39 in others. The blanket comes in a pouch that seems good for one use. The gourmet seems adequate for the pouch. I think the advertisement is a little over the top. These are great for a pan fire and avoids the mess form a fire extinguisher. Perhaps great for a grill. However, do not expect any fire blanket to handle a three-dimensional fire such the auto fire shown on the box. Also if you use this on a pan fire, remember to turn off the burner and wait to remove blanket.

Haven't used yet since I haven't had a kitchen fire. But I'm ready if it happens.
