I bought an Audi that the engine had suffered catastrophic. Cam chain failure. I bought this kit to repair it and get the timing right. It worked well

This is a complete kit and has everything you need to replace your camshaft timing chain. I like that it has the 9mm polybit socket in both short and long formats. I used the short socket so I have better control when removing the bolt. Everything in this kit feels solid.i found it useful to slightly loosen the hex bolts holding the locking tool posts before fitting it to your engine. Once in, tighten it back to keep your camshafts locked in place.

All in all, the important bits are all there for a 1.8t VW timing chain job. The retainers for the tensioner are cheap metal, bent almost immediately. Unusable. The pins on the harmonic balancer holder arent long enough to actually hold itself on, so as soon as torque is applied to the HB bolt, the counterhold wants to just twist off. You have to hold the counterhold to the HB, prop the counterhold on a jackstand, and also loosen a very tight bolt. Couldve been better, but usable. Everything else worked as expected.Only thing it *couldve* included was the exhaust cam holder, since it included the intake one. Used a pair of 90⁰ needlenose in place of it though.
