I recommend based on safety and EWG approved.
We bought this because it was on the list from the Environmental Working Group as being safe to use and made without any toxins or harmful chemicals. It works well and protects the skin. I highly recommend. You have to rub it in. But it does rub on. We use it on ourselves and our kid.

Reef safe option
I liked that it worked for travel since it is solid and doesn’t spill. Easy to warm in your hands and apply. As others have said, may take longer to apply if you’re going for a large surface area, because the going is slow! Worked for me for neck and arms. It did feel greasy on my face.

Tin is tiny for $25 (changed review to 5 stars after trying product
(Edit after using product): while I am still not thrilled about the cost, or the thick white cast this leaves on your skin, it really does work greatI am a redhead with hardly any freckles, I just burn like burn within 15 minutes of sun exposure. The results I get from this SPF is comparable to wearing a cloth sunshirt. I have never found a better sunblock and I can’t ask for anything more than that. Also I feel better when swimming in lakes and rivers that I’m not harming wildlife. After my frost review, the seller reached out and offered a refund no questions asked which I respect, but I declined as I wanted to fully try the product…and I’m so glad I did!I don’t care how good the sunscreen is, for $25 I expected a lot more. I’m grumpy I spent so much when for $8 I can get a giant jug of bad-for-the-earth spf. The Tin is smaller than my palm and I have tiny hands. It’s like a scam almost. Feels nice and no smell, good for the environment still doesn’t make up for the cost unless your target customers are wealthyThis hurts the message of sustainability btw.

Excellent value
I used this while scuba diving as I needed a reef safe sunblock. Very effective. Comes in a cute tin (that easily fits in a pocket) with a wooden spatula for applying. I used it for a week and hardly put a dent in it. Highly recommend!

Keep it as a backup
This stuff works amazingly well (compared to other zinc based sunscreen). I like how it quickly it goes from a semi solid in the tin to melting and spreading like a lotion. I originally put this in my travel bag as a backup, but after trying it, this may become my new go to sunscreen.

Nourishing and blends with no white cast
This is my first time using a sunscreen balm. It softens when you spread it on your skin. I like to tap it on to spread then gently rub in the rest. It’s not drying and my skin feels more moisturized but not shiny or greasy. On days when I want more coverage, I apply more sunscreen which causes a slight white cast. I fix this by setting it with my bareminerals powder in medium shade which also has spf 15. Highly recommend this sunscreen if you are looking for it in balm form!

Greasy
It does seem to be odorless which is what I need for hunting. But the product is very greasy and not very pleasant on the skin.
