It does stay dry
I use a snorkel to swim laps at the Y. My old snorkel would get water trapped at the horizontal part and wouldn't completely go out when you blew hard. I swim for an hour and would breath in little drops of water and would have a cough for the next day. Water doesn't get in with this one. Even when splashed water hits the tube. It just closes for a second. Also the tube angles down so if water does get in it will all blow out unlike the horizontal blow tube on my last snorkel. No more cough from water in the lungs for the next 24 hours. I'm so glad I forgot my last one in locker room and bought this one. I did get it back from lost and found, so I have a spare now.

Excellent product, amazing value.
Extremely good industrial design. Functional, attractive both visually and tactilly. Different materials with different finishes complement each other. I use it for mindless laps in the pool, exhaling thru my nose, so no co2 problems. Valve closes reliably when submerging. Totally raised my tolerance for doing laps. Inexpensive, under $20, but in no way cheap. I'd pay twice what I did, and still consider it fairly priced.Update: 2 months of several times a week swimming has left me just as pleased as I was at first. unit literally takes a licking and keeps on ticking! would repeat without hesitation. still looks brand new.

Great Snorkel
I haven't tried this in the ocean yet- trip planned in a couple weeks but have tried it in a swimming pool and was able to look down and behind without getting a mouth full of water and able to dive completely under without getting water into the snorkel. Previously we have gone on a few group excursions and found the snorkels provided by the operators were short so that any attempt to look down or behind at a dolphin, turtle, etc., that swam under us resulted in a mouth full of sea water. We ordered these because they are longer so you can look around while floating on the surface and being dry snorkels allow you to dive. We're taking our own masks and these snorkels from now on.

Fits well. Works well. Good Price.
I swim laps in the pool and have long ago forgotten how to breathe. So, I swim with a snorkel. I've had about 4 "dry snorkels" so far. I use them until they are lost, stolen, or fail. This snorkel worked well right out of the box (bag) and was a no-brainer. I have used it for 30 minutes so far and it has been completely dry - no leaks. That's pretty unusual. So, if it holds up to ordinary wear and tear, it's a tremendously inexpensive and good purchase.

Works and fits well
Fits well in mouth and love the flexible area near the bottom; it makes it easy to position and keep in your mouth.

Excellent product - the stopper valve works beautifully
My nine year old daughter who has been snorkeling for years with a youth snorkel loved this one. She can dive and no water comes into the snorkel at all - pretty impressive. The rest of the family is jealous. (She’s a very large 9 YO, this might be too big for your average kid that age.) Great item especially for the cost. Be aware that most of the colors are opaque. I ordered the yellow also thinking it would be translucent like the blue but it wasn’t so it was a little brighter than what I was hoping for. Still a good product, though.

Works surprisingly well
I was a bit worried whether a valve is going to work or not - and it worked very well: at any degree and at any speed of submerging (fast or slow). Not a single drop of water in my mouth.

Really Nice snorkel
The silicone is high quality and I loved the easy clip . The dry slide will close on occasionand is something you have to deal with on a dry snorkel.I felt like mouth fatigue was moderate. One real advantage with this Aegend snorkel is it has good length to keep it out of the water.
