Excellent guitars that will need some TLC. Amazing guitar and sound!
I'm reading some of the reviews and glad I didn't listen to some one offs. This is a solid guitar at this price range! I had an Epiphone 'similiar' model which didn't compare. Sorry never a Gibson owner because of the price! I'm not knocking Gibson or Les Paul but you charge way too much for your guitars!I'll start with the CONS: First, you have to know how to setup your guitar. If not have a local tech do. Should be less than $100 or learn yourself. Slight fret buzz but not bad (some metal shavings came off from the dremel polishing), lowered the action, the strings were fine (.10s I think) if I could salvage them. But cut em. Polish the frets, oil the fretboard, check your truss rod (mine didn't need adjusting)!! Check your intonation in case. This all goes for a $3000 guitar too ya know!! USA driven, China manufactured, to check for QA.PROs: This has become my new favorite guitar! It's beautiful! The hardware, body is solid, pickups, pots, detail, all good. Heavy but what a quality tone. Excellent! If you have an issue out of the box I expect good things from Leo support, didnt need yet. Please dont dissapoint Leo service!Play through some 'decent gear' and it sounds bright, vivid, loud, beautiful.Overall: Impressed does not explain my first reaction. I bought the Tempest model because I am just overall curious about Leo design, quality, and beauty at this price point! I expect this guitar to remain one of my favs!Update Mar31st - Needed to order a new bridge since E, B were rocking and loose. Asked LJ for support. They offered $20 to replace the bridge. Ok so I did. Next purchase I may send back to Amazon if it has issues. Leo Jaymz support is all email. Support lacks a decent response and time. A live person would be nice too!Add 4-28 Also bought the US Flag guitar. Needed the nut raised slightly. Put some thin double adhesive under it, glued it back in. It's a cheap nut unfortunately but works. Got the annoying mysterious buzz out and action lowered more too. Now it rocks! Still the bridge is cheap and will replace. These things setup right are hard to beat for this price. Sounds amazing!

Man These Jaymz Guitars Are Great
This is my second Jaymz guitar, the other is an SG style and it was so good for the price I had to grab this Les Paul style. Out of the box there was a small issue with one pickup being pushed down on one side. Had to loosen the strings to remove it. That side somehow had a bent bracket and the spring and screw were just lying loose. No idea how it could have gotten like that because there was no damage to the box and it was well packed with styrofoam protecting the whole guitar. Seems like it left the shop this way. Was able to easily fix it though, with plyers had to straighten the bracket and replace the pickup back properly with the springs and screws, took about 15 minutes. Once that was done and it was tuned it looks and plays great. Again, a great deal from Leo Jaymz. I suppose there could be some small issues like this from time to time but still what you get for the price is well worth the purchase with some chance of an issue in which case if not an easy fix can always send back for refund or replacement. Have to admit, between Grote and Leo Jaymz both being so good and affordable ending up buying 5 new guitars and wall mounting all my guitars which were lying around or on stands. Now my room looks awesome like a guitar center. Feel like playing every day now.

Verrrry Nice Surprise!
Verrrrry cool present from my Wife. Unexpected. When I opened the Box I was Shocked that it was from Amazon. I've never bought a guitar online or one that I didn't play first. This really surprised me, after a set up (neck, action, pickup height and intonation adjustments) its actually a really NICE Guitar. Before the set up, unplayable. E, A & D saddles needed to be turned around for intonation to be possible.I'd never compare it to a my old Gibson. However, Compared to other guitars I've played in Sam Ash, Guitar Center and local shops near me, this Guitar is definitely more than worth the selling price. I'd say its comparable to at least a new $400 guitar. The Grover tuners look great and they work well. It stays in tune better than my OLD Gibson SG ever did. Pots are smooth and not scratchy. Fret work, fret board, Nice after a cleaning and oiling. Pickup switch and output jack could be better. Over all, IMO, this is a GREAT Guitar for the price.I added a pick guard and silver/black control knobs. Was planning to upgrade to some blk Wilkinson hardware (bridge and saddle) new pickups and locking tuners, but its not necessary. The Guitar looks Great the way it is, stays in tune and the pickups are GOOD. I'm going to keep it the way it is for now.I definitely recommend this Guitar for a beginner who knows someone who can do a set up. If I was a beginner I wouldn't know what to do with this when I fist opened the box. I hated my 1st guitar, it buzzed, when it was in tune chords would be out of tune, it NEVER stayed in tune, etc...Very discouraging. Now I know whats up with that stuff and its easily fixable. A beginner would not know what to do. Beginners should, I think, go to a guitar store for their 1st Guitar. One that is already set up or pay someone to set THIS up. Its worth paying for a set up for this guitar. So, I'm Not comparing this to a Gibson. For the price, the quality, sound, feel and over all everything, I give it 4.5 stars for quality/price.Pick guard- KAISH Black 3 Ply LP Guitar Pickguard with Black Bracket for Epi Les PaulControl knobs - Musiclily Pro Metric Size 18 Spline Electric Guitar Speed Knobs for Epiphone Les Paul SG Asia Import Guitar Bass Split Shaft Pots, Chrome.Update--- Over one year later, this is still my go to. I have other Guitars I've paid MUCH more for (Gibson LP, BC Rich, Jackson, Ibanez). This one is the one I'll always have out and play 1st. Changing things and updating a guitar is something I do to them all, even the Gibson, so its modified and will continue to be, like all the rest. I Still recommend and will probably get another one soon.Update 2 - 6/24/25Still the guitar I keep next to me in the livingroom. Annnnd, I got the Matte Black. Blacked everything out and gutted it. New Pots, wires, capacitor, switch, tuners, etc... Wasn't necessary, just wanted to.Love em' both.I still recommend them.
