Interesting read for 8 year old and 36 year old
My 8 year old son is obsessed with evinrude motors. We read this book together and we both enjoyed it! It’s a must read for anyone of any age who wants to know the history of Evinrude motors.

Not bad
It's written more like a kids' book but isn't bad. The parallels with Kiekhaefer in 'Iron Fist' are striking. Both knew machining and welding, neither was trained as an engineer. The human interest part is entertaining as well. It was said that Ole Evinrude (the name probably derives from Eivindsrud), who grew up speaking Norwegian, would drive 200 miles at Christmas for lutefisk. I have eaten lutefisk (chased by akavit) and am still running Evinrude racing motors.

Good bio and outboard motors history
This was a gift for someone who loves old motors. I read him the whole book and he really enjoyed it. It was clear and easy to follow as well as interesting. The illustrations were a bonus!

Outboard History lesson
Very short book, but a interesting history. If you enjoy boating and you have ever wondered the history of the outboard motor then this book would be for you. Definitely a one night read.

Third Grade Reader
This little book [booklet?] is good for what its intended for, but I had no idea when I ordered it that it was intended as a grade school reader! I ordered it for myself [for my outboard ephemera collection], but I was disappointed. I gave it to my third grader grandson, and he enjoyed it.
