Southland Archery Supply PSE Viper SS Handheld Pistol Crossbow Package with Extra Arrows

As other reviewers have said, this is not a toy. It could be for someone with crossbow experience. But for all others: this will take a little time to get used to, so it's serious at first. Toss the directions if you get the dinky little one in black and white. Go to Youtube for several good clips for assembly. I don't know crossbows, but this little bow packs a punch and is very accurate. Right away you see and feel the quality of the parts. Excellent construction. Please keep these away from small children (including the bolts).

It is almost identical to the Horizon Redback which is rated as one of the top (if not the top) pistol crossbows.The only difference is the draw weight 50lbs vs 80lbs on the Horizon. The Viper includes a nice finger guard (Horizon doesn't)Differences:Horizon: No finger guard, limbs 80lbs Nice plastic cover on trigger making it very comfortable to shootViper: Includes finger guard, Limbs 50lbs, trigger thin metal uncomfortable to shoot, it might cause soreness in your finger.Other than that they are identical. I'm sure it's made by the same manufacturer.If you don't mind the 50lbs weight instead of 80lbs I would definitely get the Viper which is half the price of the Horizon.

Pros:Great value for what you get.The crossbow is easy to put together, its very powerful, sight is workable, loading is easy for me but for the wife is a bit hard but she can load it. Case is a nice touch. This is her Crossbow.Cons: just the arrows.Worth the purchase just get better arrows or get a target that wont kill the arrows.Everyone wants to use it but I have to load it hahaha..

Nice little crossbow but it can't even pierce two sheets of a cardboard box, on top of each other. I'm a bit disappointed in that regard.

My son loves this bow! Great for target practice! Good price with the bundle!

It was fairly easy to put together, seems to be able to repel what is needed to be 'warned' not to continue to approach.

Definitely not a toy.Some serious power, specially in closer distance.-The front handle you grab when cocking,needs to be longer & beefier.-The fore grip needs to tilt more vertically & should be, a little bit longer-The metal trigger is sharp & thin that your finger really hurts after awhile.-Hope they find a way of making the cocking easier.Hope PSE improves this Crossbow.
