Great for note taking and active reading, writing, and learning
They've really improved the Etch A Sketch. I was looking for a new Etch A Sketch and ran across this thing, and I'm glad I spent a little extra and bought this. This one it comes with a stylist and you don't use 2 knobs. And to erase you can flip over the stylist and the back acts as an eraser. You don't flip the screen over and shake it.Seriously they've captured the visual and tactile aspects of writing with a pen well. I actually have a reason to know cursive again. I actually forgot cursive when I first started using it and had to refresh myself for 30 minutes or so. I feel less retarded now after using for a while. I don't know if I am less retarded but I feel less retarded writing with a stylus. There is no spell check when you write on the tablet. So as long as I don't look in a dictionary, I feel less retarded. You feel more human writing using it rather than punching letters on a keyboard. Really good product for active reading, studying, and taking notes in comparison to only being able to read things on a computer.

The Scribe writing tablet exceeded my expectations!
I planned to purchase the Kindle Scribe and the ReMarkable, evaluate and return one. The Scribe, once you get the writing software working, has exceeded my expectations as a writing tablet. It is perfect, feels like writing on paper, and the pen choices are complete. I don’t draw, however. The scribe is the right size; any larger, and the weight might be a problem, but a bigger concern is that the software is not intuitive, and the connections between functions don’t flow. It is hard to figure out how to work the device. I fought to get the Scribe to be a writing device, and the marketing department obviously wrote the instruction manual: it describes what the Scribe can do, but little on how to get there. The device will convert handwriting to text, easily create a PDF, and send the file via email to print. The device does not have printer device drivers; it relies on the email function.Restart the device, and it is a traditional Kindle. After all these years, I have over a hundred Kindle books, and my only complaint is that Amazon loads the Kindle section with so many books to buy that it clutters the entire Kindle reading process. The software is not well-integrated between the writing and Kindle reading functions. I created a PDF and could add notes, but it was not easy to do, which brings me back to the Remarkable. After all these years and the wealth of Amazon, I believe the Scribe will be around, and they will eventually fix the klunky software and create a menu to access all the great features. I fear that ReMarkable might not last. I once spent three grand on a ‘high capacity’ Bernoulli Box, and a couple of years later, they were gone. The Amazon Kindle Scribe may be around for the long run.

Good for daily work and more uses.
It is my daily only note taker and more.I take a lot of notes in my work. I used to have several notebooks. Most of the time I keep losing them. I hesitate before getting this Kindle as I couldn't interact with a working model in stores. Then when it was on sale, I got this one. I don't regret it.It has the perfect size for portability, perfect screen brightness, good design and also a good reader.I like to upload pdf files to it and then work on them with the pen. Very useful in the lab or in meetings. It has a lot of nice features that keep amazing me. Also, it is an attention magnet.

Great for Reading and Note-Taking – Software Needs Work
I purchased the Kindle Scribe to rekindle (pun intended) my love of reading and to have a versatile tool for taking notes in both my work and personal life. Overall, it delivers on many fronts.Writing on the Scribe is a real pleasure — it’s smooth, accurate, and feels natural. The note-taking functionality is excellent for quick thoughts, meeting notes, or journaling. As an e-reader, it performs just as you'd expect from a Kindle: crisp display, comfortable on the eyes, and great battery life. I’ve also found the Send to Kindle and email integration very useful for moving documents and notes back and forth. My only real complaint is with the software. It can feel a bit sluggish at times, and switching between books and notes isn’t as seamless as I’d like. It takes several taps to move between sections, and I wish there were a faster way to jump between content and notes. That said, if you’re looking for a solid e-reader with excellent handwriting capabilities, the Kindle Scribe is a strong choice — especially if Amazon continues to refine the software.
