Almost laser perfection .
So far it's a great laser ... I was installing commercial LED lights and needed them to be in a straight line . The green is definitely visible and it's reaches far . The container comes in feels sturdy and comes with green glasses , a charger for the 12v battery , a ceiling clamp , a green target mark, and the laser itself has a magnet to attach to metal studs and what not.The only problem is it's hard to fine tune for a straight line, I wish there was a dial of some kind to adjust slightly to the left and right , I use my hand and hold the whole laser body to move it 1/16" to the left or right and either the whole thing moves or I move it 1/4" further than I wanted , so you play this game of back and forth getting the fine tuning of where you want the laser to point .It is a lot easier when the laser is on a metal stud then atleast you have a better grab on the actuall laser left or right . If it just sitting on the floor the whole body wants to move .Other than that it does exactly what it says .Bright green light , I love the functionality of the 5 point laser and vertical and horizontal lines and how you could use them separately or together .I'll have to update my in a few months once I have used it in other applications .

Great for indoor, good for short-range outdoor use.
I knew when I bought it that the green laser was supposed to be better for outdoor use but it was also $150 more. Granted it did come with a 12 volt lithium battery and charger where this one comes with an adapter for double A's. But I already had 12 volt batteries from my other DeWalt tools that I used on it. some of the reviews have said battery life with a double A's was about 3 hours. I don't know I only used it for about 5 minutes just to see how it work that night. On a 12 volt lithium battery I got about 10 hours have used and it showed a half battery left. I was pretty impressed at that part.I used it for an outdoor project, leveling ground for a 15 by 30 foot concrete pad. Outdoors in full sun 20 foot the laser starts getting hard to see, 30 foot if you look really close you can see it but that's to be expected. And like I said I knew that ahead of time. For indoor use it as great as a very bright clear line. It feels very well made and I liked it flashes if it's not sitting level that way you don't go too far before you realize your mistake.

It can't do everything, but it's a great tool
I had a project coming up that involved wainscoting and chair rail around an attic room about 35 feet by 25 feet, so I checked into laser levels and read reviews, finally settling on this one. It did a great job, the green line was very bright and easy to see. Unfortunately, there was no user manual included with my item, but I was able to go online and learn the process for checking accuracy- I found it was within 1/16" at 35', pretty good. This made my job so much easier, I didn't realize how helpful it would be until I set it up the first time; the floors were out of level by nearly an inch, the point where the angled ceilings met the walls varied by an inch and a half, and many of the walls were out of plumb, some by half an inch over four feet! Enter the laser level- here's a reference point to bring method to the craziness, the job turned out great and without frustration. Now that I've used it a bit I have some advice to prospective purchasers: this is an excellent cross line self-leveling laser, but it can't do all things well. If you need to position a handrail on a staircase you want to be able to tilt the line parallel to the stairs, this laser will blink rapidly to let you know it's not level- an annoying state of affairs if you want an angled reference line. The laser window is angled such that it puts a good line around the walls and up the ceiling, much less so on the floor- if you're looking for a laser to help with tiling floors, you might choose something different. If you want to transfer a point on the floor to the ceiling, there are dot lasers better suited for the job, although you can make do with this. As an all around useful tool, this is very good, especially because it is so accurate and easy to use. I like that you can individually select the vertical or horizontal line. I like that there is a rechargeable battery with a battery life indicator. I like that there is a mechanical lock on the pendulum, and that by using it there is less chance of getting out of calibration. Unfortunately, the pendulum lock is also a master power off switch. I considered the conical 360 degree laser version, but chose this one because of the lower price and more compact size. I opted for the green laser because I'll probably be trying to use it outdoors occasionally (not in bright sunlight) and this is much easier to see than the red color. Bottom line for me is that I now have an easy and accurate level and plumb reference line whenever I need one, so I'm happy with my purchase.

A little expensive for what it is, but does the job great
More for work type situation where you'll need it often.A little pricey for a laser that self levels, but thats just my opinion. I'll be using it often so I will definately get my money's worth and the convenience of knowing my shit is done straight.Used it for piping emt on a warehouse ceiling, works no problem. The laser self levels which is great. Plop it down on and flat surface that isnt too tilted and this thing will do the rest. It shot up a 32ft ceiling without issues, even with bright LED lights.Controls are very simple and intuitive. Front powers up the system. The tou just bress if you want the vertical or horizontal. It even has a power indicator. This thing comes with:-A hardshell carrying case, tbh its a little bug for whats inside.-A pair of safety goggles, but you know we wont need it, just dont look at the light.-A clamp that can mount with a metal side to slap your VERY MAGNETIC laser, very strong for the requirement, nice.-A battery case to enclose the included 4x AA batteries, but you can also use your 12v small dewalt battery.-A metal strip that you can mount to a wall to attach the laser.

Great level
Worked exactly as expected, I purchased the tripod stand with it to help for ease of use which it did. The case is slightly bulky but if you get the other tools that are designed to go with the laser level it’s great! Would highly recommend the upgrade to this level as it is an all in one for almost every project.
