It took a bit for me to get the hang of the PiBox. I bought it to use in an attempt to recover files from the SSD on my laptop which had crashed. I finally accessed it, and found that while Disk Management (PC - Windows) showed the drive, it was inaccessible. I downloaded a free limited use scanner tool, which did find files and recovered them, but they were corrupted beyond use. I did buy a Samsung SSD to use with it (at least until I try to re-format the old SSD), which again took me a bit to get connected. The heat mat pulled the connections loose when I slid the box back together. The plug to hold the SSD in place did not hold. It was VERY TIGHT when closing with heat mat in place but it seems to be controlling heat well. The transfer speeds have been good on the few files I have moved around. The options of USB C and USB 2 cords is very nice. I do wish there were extra plugs included. I lost the included one pretty quickly. The company does not ship directly to the US. I'll keep looking elsewhere. The free stand which was included is interesting. The attached photo and screen shot were taken at same time.

It is an Excellent case for Super Fast SSD, it comes with an excellent presentation and lining for protection and storage.It is very practical and takes up little space.

Very sturdy enclosure. Performs as advertised. CAUTION! Verifiy which type of interface your system requires. If you are planning on using a SSD drive, make sure your system supports M2 NVME SLOT M DEVICES. On the other hand, if your system is SATA based, you will need an enclosure for SATA SLOT B DEVICES. And yes, it is crucial that system and device types match.....

Call me old fashioned but I still find comfort in knowing that a fan is assisting in cooling, especially since the intent is to use this drive very often. It was pretty easy to install my ssd, it feels durable and works as should.As far as external storages go, this setup is the fastest I've used so I'm quite pleased.The cables look good, I've been using the c-type to c-type without issues. They also threw in a mobile phone stand as a gift which functions well. Overall a great product that I'd probably buy more of if needed.

This enclosure is very small and lightweight, making it very easy to carry around. The designers expected as much and hence included a nice secure carrying case.This enclosure features a tool free design making it very simple to use. It took me less than 20 seconds to install the NVME SSD in the chassis and connect it to my laptop. The included cable, however, is very small. If you choose this enclosure, you may want to invest in a quality cable of desired length.Additionally, enclosure feels very flimsy. The chassis is made of thin plastic while the outer cover is maybe thin metal or a thin plastic painted like metal.The quality issues, however, do not end there. The included fan was not properly secured to the chassis and fell off as soon as I took the chassis out of the cover. I was able to place the fan back where it belonged, but without a way to properly secure it, it fell out again. A tool free design, does not have to mean that fan can't be secured to the chassis. That's just a design failure.Additionally, the fan makes a high pitched noise while running. It's piercing to my ears. Additionally, the fan kept revving up and stopping again and again continuously as long as the drive was in use. It felt like there was a major design flaw on thermal management.Given these issues, the enclosure is veing returned and I do not recommend this to others until the manufacturer improves the design.

The media could not be loaded. I love the ideal that built in fan to keep the device cool but the fan barely run, just little spin up here and there for 1 second then stop which i'm really worry about my NVME card because the case is just aluminum without the heatsink. if the fan won't spin, it will be too hot for NVME. when i hold the enclosure, it is very warm hot compare to my previous NVME enclosure. it could be the fan is defect. The NVME enclosure use RTL9210 chipset as the seller stated if anyone curious about the chipset. Even the enclosure is little too warm but it function very well. fit well with my 2280 card. No complain with usage, work just like other enclosure beside fan issue.
