Why not just use a short bungee cord instead? I've done that for years. Is this somehow better?

Either one is probably OK. I like this strap because it’s Velcro and tightens real easy. With a bungee cord you have to pull on it to tighten and at times it might slip and snap right in your face. Just my thoughts.

It says don’t use in the sun because the gel will melt. how am i supposed to not use them in the sun?
